Rabbana thalamna anfusana wa-in lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina al-khasireen

"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta al-wahhab

"Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower."

Rabbana atina fee al-dunya hasanatan wafee al-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaba al-nar

"Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina al-thalimeen

"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

Rabbi ishrah lee sadree wayassir lee amree wahlul 'uqdatan min lisanee yafqahoo qawlee

"My Lord, expand for me my breast, and ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech."

Rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer

"My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wadhurriyyatina qurrata a'yunin waj'alna lil-muttaqeena imama

"Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader for the righteous."

Annee massaniya al-durru wa-anta arhamu al-rahimeen

"Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."

Rabbi la tatharnee fardan wa-anta khayru al-waritheen

"My Lord, do not leave me alone (without offspring) though You are the best of inheritors."

Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wathabbit aqdamana wansurna 'ala al-qawmi al-kafireen

"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheera

"My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small."

Rabbi zidnee 'ilma

"My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

"Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds"

Ulaaa'ika 'alaa hudam mir rabbihim wa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

"These are upon guidance from their Lord. These are the successful"

Yaaa aiyuhan naasu'budoo Rabbakumul lazee khalaqakum wallazeena min qablikum la'allakum tattaqoon

"O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety"

Innal laaha laa yastahyeee ai yadriba masalam maa ba'oodatan famaa fawqahaa; faammal lazeena aamanoo faya'lamoona annahul haqqu mir rabbihim wa ammal lazeena kafaroo fayaqooloona maazaaa araadal laahu bihaazaa masalaa; yudillu bihee kaseeranw wa yahdee bihee kaseeraa; wa maa yudillu biheee illal faasiqeen

"God does not shy away from making an example of a gnat, or something above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He leads astray many thereby, and He guides many thereby; but He misleads thereby only the evildoers"

Wa iz qaala rabbuka lil malaaa'ikati innee jaa'ilun fil ardi khaleefatan qaalooo ataj'alu feehaa mai yufsidu feehaa wa yasfikud dimaaa'a wa nahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wa nuqaddisu laka qaala inneee a'lamu maa laa ta'lamoon

"When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”"

Fatalaqqaaa Aadamu mir Rabbihee Kalimaatin fataaba 'alayh; innahoo Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem

"Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful"

Allazeena yazunnoona annahum mulaaqoo Rabbihim wa annahum ilaihi raaji'oon

"Those who know that they will meet their Lord, and that to Him they will return"

Wa iz najjainaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoonakum sooo'al azaabi yuzabbihoona abuaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem

"And recall that We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh. They inflicted on you terrible persecution, killing your sons and sparing your women. Therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord"

Wa iz qultum yaa Moosaa lan nasbira 'alaa ta'aaminw waahidin fad'u lanaa rabbaka yukhrij lanaa mimmaa tumbitul ardu mimbaqlihaa wa qis saaa'ihaa wa foomihaa wa 'adasihaa wa basalihaa qaala atastabdiloonal lazee huwa adnaa billazee huwa khayr; ihbitoo misran fa inna lakum maa sa altum; wa duribat 'alaihimuz zillatu walmaskanatu wa baaa'oo bighadabim minal laah; zaalika bi annahum kaano yakfuroona bi aayaatil laahi wa yaqtuloonan Nabiyyeena bighairil haqq; zaalika bimaa 'asaw wa kaanoo ya'tadoon

"And recall when you said, “O Moses, we cannot endure one kind of food, so call to your Lord to produce for us of what the earth grows: of its herbs, and its cucumbers, and its garlic, and its lentils, and its onions.” He said, “Would you substitute worse for better? Go down to Egypt, where you will have what you asked for.” They were struck with humiliation and poverty, and incurred wrath from God. That was because they rejected God’s revelations and wrongfully killed the prophets. That was because they disobeyed and transgressed"

Innal lazeena aamanoo wallazeena haadoo wan nasaaraa was Saabi'eena man aamana billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri wa 'amila saalihan falahum ajruhum 'inda Rabbihim wa laa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

"Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabeans—any who believe in God and the Last Day, and act righteously—will have their reward with their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve"

Qaalud-'u lanaa rabbaka yubaiyil lanaa maa hee; qaala innahoo yaqoolu innahaa baqaratul laa faaridunw wa laa bikrun 'awaanum baina zaalika faf'aloo maa tu'maroon

"They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us which one.” He said, “He says she is a heifer, neither too old, nor too young, but in between. So do what you are commanded.”"

Qaalud-'u lanaa rabaaka yubaiyil lanaa maa lawnuhaa; qaala innahoo yaqoolu innahaa baqaratun safraaa'u faqi'ul lawnuhaa tasurrunnaazireen

"They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us what her color is.” He said, “He says she is a yellow heifer, bright in color, pleasing to the beholders.”"

Qaalud-'u lanaa rabbaka yubaiyil lanaa maa hiya innal baqara tashaabaha 'alainaa wa innaaa in shaaa'al laahu lamuhtadoon

"They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us which one; the heifers look alike to us; and God willing, we will be guided.”"

Wa izaa laqul lazeena aamanoo qaalooo aamannaa wa izaakhalaa ba'duhum ilaa ba'din qaalooo atuhaddisoonahum bimaa fatahal laahu 'alaikum liyuhaajjookum bihee 'inda rabbikum; afalaa ta'qiloon

"And when they come across those who believe, they say, “We believe,” but when they come together privately, they say, “Will you inform them of what God has disclosed to you, so that they might dispute with you concerning it before your Lord?” Do you not understand"

Maa yawaddul lazeena kafaroo min ahlil kitaabi wa lal mushrikeena ai-yunazzala 'alaikum min khairim mir Rabbikum; wallaahu yakhtassu birahmatihee mai-yashaaa; wallaahu zul fadlil'azeem

"It is never the wish of the disbelievers from among the People of the Book, nor of the polytheists, that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But God chooses for His mercy whomever He wills. God is Possessor of Sublime Grace"

Balaa man aslama wajhahoo lillaahi wa huwa muhsinun falahooo ajruhoo 'inda rabbihee wa laa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

"In fact, whoever submits himself to God, and is a doer of good, will have his reward with his Lord—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve"

Wa izib talaaa Ibraaheema Rabbuho bi Kalimaatin fa atammahunna qaala Innee jaa'iluka linnaasi Imaaman qaala wa min zurriyyatee qaala laa yanaalu 'ahdiz zaalimeen

"And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words, and he fulfilled them. He said, “I am making you a leader of humanity.” He said, “And my descendants?” He said, “My pledge does not include the wrongdoers.”"

Wa iz qaala Ibraaheemu Rabbij 'al haazaa baladan aaminanw warzuq ahlahoo minas samaraati man aamana minhum billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri qaala wa man kafara faumatti'uhoo qaleelan summa adtarruhooo ilaa 'azaabin Naari wa bi'salmaseer

"When Abraham said, “O My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and provide its people with fruits—whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day.” He said, “And whoever disbelieves, I will give him a little enjoyment, then I will consign him to the punishment of the Fire; how miserable the destiny!”"

Wa iz yarfa'u Ibraaheemul qawaa'ida minal Baitiwa Ismaa'eelu Rabbanaa taqabbal minnaa innaka Antas Samee'ul Aleem

"As Abraham raises the foundations of the House, together with Ishmael, “Our Lord, accept it from us, You are the Hearer, the Knower"

Rabbanaa waj'alnaa muslimaini laka wa min zurriyyatinaaa ummatam muslimatal laka wa arinaa manaasikanaa wa tub 'alainaa innaka antat Tawwaabur Raheem

"Our Lord, and make us submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You. And show us our rites, and accept our repentance. You are the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful"

Rabbanaa wab'as feehim Rasoolam minhum yatloo 'alaihim aayaatika wa yu'allimuhumul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wa yuzakkeehim; innaka Antal 'Azeezul Hakeem

"Our Lord, and raise up among them a messenger, of themselves, who will recite to them Your revelations, and teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. You are the Almighty, the Wise.”"

Iz qaala lahoo Rabbuhooo aslim qaala aslamtu li Rabbil 'aalameen

"When his Lord said to him, “Submit!” He said, “I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds.”"

Qoolooo aamannaa billaahi wa maaa unzila ilainaa wa maaa unzila ilaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa'eela wa Ishaaqa wa Ya'qooba wal Asbaati wa maaootiya Moosa wa 'Eesaa wa maaa ootiyan Nabiyyoona mir Rabbihim laa nufaariq baina ahadim minhum wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

"Say, “We believe in God; and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus; and in what was given to the prophets—from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender.”"

Qul atuhaaajjoonanaa fil laahi wa Huwa Rabbunaa wa Rabbukum wa lanaa a'maalunaa wa lakum a'maalukum wa nahnu lahoo mukhlisson

"Say, “Do you argue with us about God, when He is our Lord and your Lord, and We have our works, and you have your works, and we are sincere to Him?”"

Qad naraa taqalluba wajhika fis samaaa'i fala nuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaahaa; fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil haaraam; wa haisu maa kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrah; wa innal lazeena ootul Kitaaba laya'lamoona annahul haqqu mir Rabbihim; wa mal laahu bighaafilin 'ammaa ya'maloon

"We have seen your face turned towards the heaven. So We will turn you towards a direction that will satisfy you. So turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you may be, turn your faces towards it. Those who were given the Book know that it is the Truth from their Lord; and God is not unaware of what they do"

Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takoonana minal mumtareen

"The truth is from your Lord, so do not be a skeptic"

Wa min haisu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil Haraami wa innahoo lalhaqqu mir Rabbik; wa mallaahu bighaafilin 'ammaa ta'maloon

"And wherever you come from, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque. This is the truth from your Lord, and God is not heedless of what you do"

Ulaaa'ika 'alaihim salawaatun mir Rabbihim wa rahma; wa ulaaa'ika humul muhtadoon

"Upon these are blessings and mercy from their Lord. These are the guided ones"

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo kutiba alaikumul qisaasu fil qatlaa alhurru bilhurri wal'abdu bil'abdi wal unsaa bil unsaa; faman 'ufiya lahoo min akheehi shai'un fattibaa'um bilma'roofi wa adaaa'un ilaihi bi ihsaan; zaalika takhfeefum mir rahbikum wa rahmah; famani' tadaa ba'da zaalika falahoo 'azaabun aleem

"O you who believe! Retaliation for the murdered is ordained upon you: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. But if he is forgiven by his kin, then grant any reasonable demand, and pay with good will. This is a concession from your Lord, and a mercy. But whoever commits aggression after that, a painful torment awaits him"

Laisa 'alaikum junaahun an tabtaghoo fad lam mir rabbikum; fa izaaa afadtum min 'Arafaatin fazkurul laaha 'indal-Mash'aril Haraami waz kuroohu kamaa hadaakum wa in kuntum min qablihee laminad daaaleen

"You commit no error by seeking bounty from your Lord. When you disperse from Arafat, remember God at the Sacred Landmark. And remember Him as He has guided you. Although, before that, you were of those astray"

Fa-izan qadaitum manaa sikakum fazkurul laaha kazikrikum aabaaa'akum aw ashadda zikraa; faminannaasi mai yaqoolu Rabbanaaa aatinaa fiddunyaa wa maa lahoo fil Aakhirati min khalaaq

"When you have completed your rites, remember God as you remember your parents, or even more. Among the people is he who says, “Our Lord, give us in this world,” yet he has no share in the Hereafter"

Wa minhum mai yaqoolu rabbanaaa aatina fid dunyaa hasanatawn wa fil aakhirati hasanatanw wa qinaa azaaban Naar

"And among them is he who says, “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world, and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”"

Wa qaala lahum Nabiyyuhum inna Aayata mulkiheee ai yaatiyakumut Taabootu feei sakeenatummir Rabbikum wa baqiyyatummimmaa taraka Aalu Moosa wa Aalu Haaroona tahmiluhul malaaa'ikah; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

"And their prophet said to them, “The proof of his kingship is that the Ark will be restored to you, bringing tranquility from your Lord, and relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron. It will be carried by the angels. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”"

Wa lammaa barazoo liJaaloota wa junoodihee qaaloo Rabbanaaa afrigh 'alainaa sabranw wa sabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen

"And when they confronted Goliath and his troops, they said, “Our Lord, pour down patience on us, and strengthen our foothold, and support us against the faithless people.”"

Allaahu waliyyul lazeena aamanoo yukhrijuhum minaz zulumaati ilan noori wallazeena kafarooo awliyaaa'uhumut Taaghootu yukhrijoonahum minan noori ilaz zulumaat; ulaaa'ika Ashaabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

"God is the Lord of those who believe; He brings them out of darkness and into light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are the evil ones; they bring them out of light and into darkness—these are the inmates of the Fire, in which they will abide forever"

Alam tara ilal lazee Haaajja Ibraaheema fee Rabbiheee an aataahullaahul mulka iz qaala Ibraaheemu Rabbiyal lazee yuhyee wa yumeetu qaala ana uhyee wa yumeetu qaala ana uhyee wa umeetu qaala Ibraaheemu fa innal laaha yaatee bishshamsi minal mashriqi faati bihaa minal maghribi fabuhital lazee kafar; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen

"Have you not considered him who argued with Abraham about his Lord, because God had given him sovereignty? Abraham said, “My Lord is He who gives life and causes death.” He said, “I give life and cause death.” Abraham said, “God brings the sun from the East, so bring it from the West,” so the blasphemer was confounded. God does not guide the wrongdoing people"

Wa iz qaala Ibraaheemu Rabbi arinee kaifa tuhyil mawtaa qaala awa lam tu'min qaala balaa wa laakil liyatma'inna qalbee qaala fakhuz arab'atam minal tairi fasurhunna ilaika summaj 'al a'alaa kulli jabalim minhunna juz'an sumaad 'uhunna yaateenaka sa'yaa; wa'lam annal laaha 'Azeezun Hakeem

"And when Abraham said, “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He said, “Have you not believed?” He said, “Yes, but to put my heart at ease.” He said, “Take four birds, and incline them to yourself, then place a part on each hill, then call to them; and they will come rushing to you. And know that God is Powerful and Wise.”"

Allazeena yunfiqoona amwaalahum fee sabeelillaahi summa laa yutbi'oona maaa anfaqoo mannanw wa laaa azal lahum ajruhum 'inda Rabbihim; wa laa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

"Those who spend their wealth in the way of God, and then do not follow up what they spent with reminders of their generosity or with insults, will have their reward with their Lord—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve"

Allazeena yunfiqoona amwaalahum billaili wan nahaari sirranw wa 'alaaniyatan falahum ajruhum 'inda Rabbihim wa laa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

"Those who spend their wealth by night and day, privately and publicly, will receive their reward from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve"

Allazeena yaakuloonar ribaa laa yaqoomoona illaa kamaa yaqoomul lazee yatakhabbatuhush shaitaanu minal mass; zaalika bi annahum qaalooo innamal bai'u mishur ribaa; wa ahallal laahul bai'a wa harramar ribba; faman jaaa'ahoo maw'izatum mir rabbihee fantahaa falahoo maa salafa wa amruhooo ilal laahi wa man 'aada fa ulaaa 'ika Ashaabun naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

"Those who swallow usury will not rise, except as someone driven mad by Satan's touch. That is because they say, “Commerce is like usury.” But God has permitted commerce, and has forbidden usury. Whoever, on receiving advice from his Lord, refrains, may keep his past earnings, and his case rests with God. But whoever resumes—these are the dwellers of the Fire, wherein they will abide forever"

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa amilus saalihaati wa aqaamus salaata wa aatawuz zakaata lahum ajruhum 'inda rabbihim wa laa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

"Those who believe, and do good deeds, and pray regularly, and give charity—they will have their reward with their Lord; they will have no fear, nor shall they grieve"

Yaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa tadaayantum bidinin ilaa ajalimmusamman faktubooh; walyaktub bainakum kaatibum bil'adl; wa laa yaaba kaatibun ai yaktuba kamaa 'allamahul laah; falyaktub walyumlilil lazee 'alaihil haqqu walyattaqil laaha rabbahoo wa laa yabkhas minhu shai'aa; fa in kaanal lazee 'alaihil lhaqqu safeehan aw da'eefan aw laa yastatee'u ai yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhoo bil'adl; wastash hidoo shaheedaini mir rijaalikum fa il lam yakoonaa rajulaini farajulunw wamra ataani mimman tardawna minash shuhadaaa'i an tadilla ihdaahumaa fatuzakkira ihdaahumal ukhraa; wa laa yaabash shuhadaaa'u izaa maadu'oo; wa laa tas'amooo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ilaaa ajalih; zaalikum aqsatu 'indal laahi wa aqwamu lishshahaadati wa adnaaa allaa tartaabooo illaaa an takoona tijaaratan haadiratan tudeeroonahaa bainakum falaisa 'alaikum junaahun allaa taktuboohan; wa ashidooo izaa tabaaya'tum; wa laa yudaaarra kaatibunw wa laa shaheed; wa in taf'aloo fa innahoo fusooqum bikum; wattaqul laaha wa yu'allimu kumul laah; wallaahu bikulli shai'in 'Aleem

"O you who believe! When you incur debt among yourselves for a certain period of time, write it down. And have a scribe write in your presence, in all fairness. And let no scribe refuse to write, as God has taught him. So let him write, and let the debtor dictate. And let him fear God, his Lord, and diminish nothing from it. But if the debtor is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable to dictate, then let his guardian dictate with honesty. And call to witness two men from among you. If two men are not available, then one man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all—if one of them fails to remember, the other would remind her. Witnesses must not refuse when called upon. And do not think it too trivial to write down, whether small or large, including the time of repayment. That is more equitable with God, and stronger as evidence, and more likely to prevent doubt—except in the case of a spot transaction between you—then there is no blame on you if you do not write it down. And let there be witnesses whenever you conclude a contract, and let no harm be done to either scribe or witness. If you do that, it is corruption on your part. And fear God. God teaches you. God is aware of everything"

Wa in kuntum 'alaa safarinw wa lam tajidoo kaatiban farihaanum maqboodatun fa in amina ba'dukum ba'dan falyu'addil lazi tumina amaa natahoo walyattaqil laaha Rabbah; wa laa taktumush shahaadah; wa mai yaktumhaa fa innahooo aasimun qalbuh; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona 'Aleem

"If you are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit should be handed over. But if you trust one another, let the trustee fulfill his trust, and let him fear God, his Lord. And do not conceal testimony. Whoever conceals it is sinner at heart. God is aware of what you do"

Aamanar-Rasoolu bimaaa unzila ilaihi mir-Rabbihee walmu'minoon; kullun aamana billaahi wa Malaaa'ikathihee wa Kutubhihee wa Rusulih laa nufarriqu baina ahadim-mir-Rusulihee wa qaaloo sami'naa wa ata'naa ghufraanaka Rabbanaa wa ilaikal-maseer

"The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, as did the believers. They all have believed in God, and His angels, and His scriptures, and His messengers: “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord. To you is the destiny.”"

Laa yukalliful-laahu nafsan illaa wus'ahaa; lahaa maa kasabat wa 'alaihaa maktasabat; Rabbanaa la tu'aakhiznaa in naseenaaa aw akhtaanaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tahmil-'alainaaa isran kamaa hamaltahoo 'alal-lazeena min qablinaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tuhammilnaa maa laa taaqata lanaa bih wa'fu 'annaa waghfir lanaa warhamnaa; Anta mawlaanaa fansurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen

"God does not burden any soul beyond its capacity. To its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. “Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not burden us as You have burdened those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear; and pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Lord and Master, so help us against the disbelieving people.”"

Huwal lazeee anzala 'alaikal Kitaaba minhu Aayaatum Muh kamaatun hunna Ummul Kitaabi wa ukharu Mutashaabihaatun faammal lazeena fee quloobihim ziyghun fa yattabi'oona ma tashaabaha minhubtighaaa 'alfitnati wabtighaaa'a taaweelih; wa maa ya'lamu taaweelahooo illal laah; warraasikhoona fil 'ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum min 'indi Rabbinaa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaaa ulul albaab

"It is He who revealed to you the Book. Some of its verses are definitive; they are the foundation of the Book, and others are unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation, they follow the unspecific part, seeking descent, and seeking to derive an interpretation. But none knows its interpretation except God and those firmly rooted in knowledge say, “We believe in it; all is from our Lord.” But none recollects except those with understanding"

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba'da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab

"“Our Lord, do not cause our hearts to swerve after You have guided us, and bestow on us mercy from Your presence; You are the Giver.”"

Rabbanaaa innaka jaami 'un-naasi li Yawmil laa raibafeeh; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee'aad

"“Our Lord, You will gather the people for a Day in which there is no doubt.” God will never break His promise"

Qul a'unabbi 'ukum bikhairim min zaalikum; lillazeenat taqaw 'inda Rabbihim jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa azwaajum mutahharatunw wa ridwaanum minal laah; wallaahu baseerum bil'ibaad

"Say, “Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who are righteous, with their Lord are Gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain forever, and purified spouses, and acceptance from God.” God is Observant of the servants"

Allazeena yaqooloona Rabbanaaa innanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa qinaa 'azaaban Naar

"Those who say, “Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins, and save us from the suffering of the Fire.”"

Iz qaalatim ra atu 'Imraana Rabbi innee nazartu laka maa fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee innaka Antas Samee'ul 'Aleem

"The wife of Imran said, “My Lord, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, dedicated, so accept from me; You are the Hearer and Knower.”"

Falammaa waqa'athaa qaalat Rabbi innee wada'tuhaaa unsaa wallaahu a'lamu bimaa wada'at wa laisaz zakaru kalunsaa wa innee sammaituhaa Maryama wa innee u'eezuhaa bika wa zurriyyatahaa minash Shaitaanir Rajeem

"And when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered a female,” and God was well aware of what she has delivered, “and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and have commended her and her descendants to Your protection, from Satan the outcast.”"

Fataqabbalahaa Rabbuhaa biqaboolin hasaninw wa ambatahaa nabaatan hasananw wa kaffalahaa Zakariyyaa kullamaa dakhala 'alaihaa Zakariyyal Mihraaba wajada 'indahaa rizqan qaala yaa Maryamu annaa laki haazaa qaalat huwa min 'indil laahi innal laaha yarzuqu mai yashaaa'u bighairi hisaab

"Her Lord accepted her with a gracious reception, and brought her a beautiful upbringing, and entrusted her to the care of Zechariah. Whenever Zechariah entered upon her in the sanctuary, he found her with provision. He said, “O Mary, where did you get this from?” She said, “It is from God; God provides to whom He wills without reckoning.”"

Hunaaalika da'aa Zakariyyaa Rabbahoo qaala Rabbi hab lee mil ladunka zurriyyatan taiyibatan innaka samee'ud du'aaa

"Thereupon Zechariah prayed to his Lord; he said, “My Lord, bestow on me good offspring from Your presence; You are the Hearer of Prayers.”"

Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa qad balaghaniyal kibaru wamraatee 'aaqirun qaala kazaalikal laahu yaf'alu maa yashaaa

"He said, “My Lord, how will I have a son, when old age has overtaken me, and my wife is barren?” He said, “Even so, God does whatever He wills.”"

Qaala Rabbij 'al leee Aayatan qaala Aaayatuka allaa tukalliman naasa salaasata ayyaamin illa ramzaa; wzkur Rabbaka kaseeranw wa sabbih bil'ashiyyi wal ibkaar

"He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you shall not speak to the people for three days, except by gestures. And remember your Lord much, and praise in the evening and the morning.”"

Yaa Maryamuq nutee li Rabbiki wasjudee warka'ee ma'ar raaki'een

"“O Mary, be devoted to your Lord, and bow down, and kneel with those who kneel.”"

Qaalat Rabbi annaa yakoonu ee waladunw wa lam yamsasnee basharun qaala kazaalikil laahu yakhluqu maa yashaaa'; izaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fayakoon

"She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”"

Wa Rasoolan ilaa Baneee Israaa'eela annee qad ji'tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum annee akhluqu lakum minatteeni kahai 'atittairi fa anfukhu feehi fayakoonu tairam bi iznil laahi wa ubri'ul akmaha wal abrasa wa uhyil mawtaa bi iznil laahi wa unabbi'ukum bimaa taakuloona wa maa taddakhiroona fee buyootikum; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

"A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by God’s leave. And I inform you concerning what you eat, and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”"

Wa musaddiqal limaa baina yadaiya minat Tawraati wa liuhilla lakum ba'dal lazee hurrima 'alaikum; wa ji'tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

"“And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.”"

Innal laaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa'budooh; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem

"“God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”"

Rabbanaaa aamannaa bimaaa anzalta wattaba'nar Rasoola faktubnaa ma'ash shaahideen

"“Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”"

Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takum minal mumtareen

"The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt"

Qul yaa Ahlal Kitaabi ta'aalaw ilaa Kalimatin sawaaa'im bainanaa wa bainakum allaa na'buda illal laaha wa laa nushrika bihee shai'anw wa laa yattakhiza ba'dunaa ba'dan arbaabam min doonil laah; fa in tawallaw faqoolush hadoo bi annaa muslimoon

"Say, “O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God.” And if they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we have submitted.”"

Wa laa tu'minooo illaa liman tabi'a deenakum qul innal hudaa hudal laahi ai yu'taaa ahadum misla maaa ooteetum aw yuhaaajjookum 'inda Rabbikum, qul innal fadla biyadil laah; yu'teehi mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Waasi'un 'Aleem

"And trust none except those who follow your religion.” Say, “Guidance is God’s guidance. If someone is given the like of what you were given, or they argue with you before your Lord, say, “All grace is in God’s hand; He gives it to whomever He wills.” God is Bounteous and Knowing"

Maa kaana libasharin ai yu'tiyahul laahul Kitaaba walhukma wan Nubuwwata summa yaqoola linnaasi koonoo 'ibaadal lee min doonil laahi wa laakin koonoo rabbaaniy yeena bimaa kuntum tu'allimoonal Kitaaba wa bimaa kuntum tadrusoon

"No person to whom God has given the Scripture, and wisdom, and prophethood would ever say to the people, “Be my worshipers rather than God’s.” Rather, “Be people of the Lord, according to the Scripture you teach, and the teachings you learn.”"

Wa laa yaamurakum an tattakhizul malaaa 'ikata wan Nabiyyeena arbaabaa; a yaamurukum bilkufri ba'da iz antum muslimoon

"Nor would he command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to infidelity after you have submitted"

Qul aamannaa billaahi wa maaa unzila 'alainaa wa maaa unzila 'alaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa'eela wa Ishaaqa wa Ya'qooba wal Asbaati wa maaa ootiya Moosaa wa 'Eesaa wan Nabiyyoona mir Rabbihim laa nufarriqu baina ahadim minhum wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

"Say, “We believe in God, and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses, and Jesus, and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit.”"

Iz taqoolu lilmu'mineena alai yakfiyakum ai-yumiddakum Rabbukum bisalaasati aalaafim minal malaaa'ikati munzaleen

"When you said to the believers, “Is it not enough for you that your Lord has reinforced you with three thousand angels, sent down?”"

Balaaa; in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo wa yaatookum min fawrihim haazaa yumdidkum Rabbukum bikhamsati aalaafim minal malaaa'ikati musawwaimeen

"It is; but if you persevere and remain cautious, and they attack you suddenly, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels, well trained"

Wa saari'ooo ilaa maghfiratim mir Rabbikum wa Jannatin arduhassamaawaatu wal ardu u'iddat lilmuttaqeen

"And race towards forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous"

Ulaaa'ika jazaaa'uhum maghfiratum mir Rabbihim wa Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feeha; wa ni'ma ajrul 'aamileen

"Those—their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. How excellent is the reward of the workers"

Wa maa kaana qawlahum illaa an qaaloo Rabbanagh fir lanaa zunoobanaa wa israafanaa feee amirnaa wa sabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen

"Their only words were, “Our Lord, forgive us our offences, and our excesses in our conduct, and strengthen our foothold, and help us against the disbelieving people.”"

Wa laa tahsabannal lazeena qutiloo fee sabeelillaahi amwaata; bal ahyaaa'un 'inda Rabbihim yurzaqoon

"Do not consider those killed in the cause of God as dead. In fact, they are alive, at their Lord, well provided for"

Allazeena yazkuroonal laaha qiyaamaiw-wa qu'oodanw-wa 'alaa juno obihim wa yatafakkaroona fee khalqis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haaza baatilan Subhaanak faqinaa 'azaaban Naar

"Those who remember God while standing, and sitting, and on their sides; and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord, You did not create this in vain, glory to You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”"

Rabbanaaa innaka man tudkhilin Naara faqad akhzai tahoo wa maa lizzaalimeena min ansaar

"“Our Lord, whomever You commit to the Fire, You have disgraced. The wrongdoers will have no helpers.”"

Rabbanaaa innanaa sami'naa munaadiyai yunaadee lil eemaani an aaminoo bi Rabbikum fa aamannaa; Rabbanaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa kaffir 'annaa saiyi aatina wa tawaffanaa ma'al abraar

"“Our Lord, we have heard a caller calling to the faith: `Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, and remit our misdeeds, and make us die in the company of the virtuous.”"

Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa'attanaa 'alaa Rusulika wa laa tukhzinaa Yawmal Qiyaamah; innaka laa tukhliful mee'aad

"“Our Lord, and give us what You have promised us through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Surely You never break a promise.”"

Fastajaaba lahum Rabbuhum annee laaa Udee'u 'amala 'aamilim minkum min zakarin aw unsaa ba'dukum mim ba'din fal lazeena haajaroo wa ukhrijoo min diyaarihim wa oozoo fee sabeelee wa qaataloo wa qutiloo la ukaffiranna 'anhum saiyi aatihim wa la udkhilanna hum Jannnatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru sawaabam min 'indil laah; wallaahu 'indahoo husnus sawaab

"And so their Lord answered them: “I will not waste the work of any worker among you, whether male or female. You are one of another. For those who emigrated, and were expelled from their homes, and were persecuted because of Me, and fought and were killed—I will remit for them their sins, and will admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow—a reward from God. With God is the ultimate reward.”"

Laakinil lazeenat taqaw Rabbahum lahum Jannnaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa nuzulammin 'indil laah; wa maa 'indal laahi khairul lil abraar

"As for those who feared their Lord: for them will be gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever—hospitality from God. What God possesses is best for the just"

Wa inna min Ahlil Kitaabi lamai yu minu billaahi wa maaa unzila ilaikum wa maaa unzila ilaihim khaashi 'eena lillaahi laa yashtaroona bi Aayaatil laahi samanan qaleelaa; ulaaa'ika lahum ajruhum 'inda Rabbihim; innal laaha saree'ul hisaab

"Among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in God, and in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed to them. They are humble before God, and they do not sell God’s revelations for a cheap price. These will have their reward with their Lord. God is swift in reckoning"

Yaaa aiyuhan naasut taqoo Rabbakumul lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw wa khalaqa minhaa zawjahaa wa bas sa minhumaa rijaalan kaseeranw wa nisaaa'aa; wattaqul laahallazee tasaaa 'aloona bihee wal arhaam; innal laaha kaana 'alaikum Raqeeba

"O people! Fear your Lord, who created you from a single soul, and created from it its mate, and propagated from them many men and women. And revere God whom you ask about, and the parents. Surely, God is Watchful over you"

Falaa wa Rabbika laa yu'minoona hattaa yuhakkimooka fe emaa shajara bainahum summa laa yajidoo fee anfusihim harajam mimmaa qadaita wa yusal limoo tasleemaa

"But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they call you to arbitrate in their disputes, and then find within themselves no resentment regarding your decisions, and submit themselves completely"

Wa maa lakum laa tuqaatiloona fee sabeelil laahi walmustad'afeena minar rijaali wannisaaa'i walwildaanil lazeena yaqooloona Rabbanaaa akhrijnaa min haazihil qaryatiz zaalimi ahluhaa waj'al lanaa mil ladunka waliyanw waj'al lanaa mil ladunka naseeraa

"And why would you not fight in the cause of God, and the helpless men, and women, and children, cry out, “Our Lord, deliver us from this town whose people are oppressive, and appoint for us from Your Presence a Protector, and appoint for us from Your Presence a Victor.”"

Alam tara ilal lazeena qeela lahum kuffooo aidiyakum wa aqeemus Salaata w aaatuz Zakaata falammaa kutiba 'alaihimul qitaalu izaa fareequm minhum yakhshawnnan naasa kakhashyatil laahi aw ashadda khashyah; wa qaaloo Rabbanaa lima katabta 'alainal qitaala law laaa akhkhartanaa ilaaa ajalin qareeb; qul mataa'ud dunyaa qaleelunw wal Aakhiratu khairul limanit taqaa wa laa tuzlamoona fateelaa

"Have you not considered those who were told, “Restrain your hands, and perform your prayers, and spend in regular charity”? But when fighting was ordained for them, a faction of them feared the people as God is ought to be feared, or even more. And they said, “Our Lord, why did You ordain fighting for us? If only You would postpone it for us for a short while.” Say, “The enjoyments of this life are brief, but the Hereafter is better for the righteous, and you will not be wronged one bit.”"

Wa la udillannahum wa la umanni yannnahum wa la aamurannahum fala yubat tikunna aazaanal lan'aami wa la aamurannahum fala yughai yirunna khalqal laah; wa mai yattakhizish Shaitaana waliyyam mmin doonil laahi faqad khasira khusraanam mubeena

"“And I will mislead them, and I will entice them, and I will prompt them to slit the ears of cattle, and I will prompt them to alter the creation of God.” Whoever takes Satan as a lord, instead of God, has surely suffered a profound loss"

Yaaa aiyuhan naasu qad jaaa'akumur Rasoolu bilhaqqi mir Rabbikum fa ammminoo khairal lakum; wa in takfuroo fainnna lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wal ard; wa kaanal laahu 'Aleemann hakeemaa

"O people! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe—that is best for you. But if you disbelieve, to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is Omniscient and Wise"

Fa ammal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati fa yuwaffeehim ujoorahum wa yazeeduhum min fadlihee wa ammal lazeenas tankafoo wastakbaroo fa yu'azzibuhum 'azaaban aleemanw wa laa yajidoona lahum min doonil laahi waliyyanw wa laa naseeraa

"But as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full, and will increase His grace for them. But as for those who disdain and are too proud, He will punish them with an agonizing punishment. And they will find for themselves, apart from God, no lord and no savior"

yaa aiyuhan naasu qad jaaa'akum burhaanum mir Rabbikum wa anzalnaaa ilaikum Nooram Mubeena

"O people! A proof has come to you from your Lord, and We sent down to you a clear light"

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tuhilloo sha'aaa 'iral laahi wa lash Shahral Haraama wa lal hadya wa lal qalaaa'ida wa laa aaammeenal Baital Haraama yabtaghoona fadlam mir Rabbihim wa ridwaanaa; wa izaa halaltum fastaadoo; wa laa yajrimannakum shana aanu qawmin an saddookum 'anil Masjidil-Haraami an ta'tadoo; wa ta'aawanoo 'alalbirri wattaqwaa; wa laa ta'aawanoo 'alal ismi wal'udwaan; wattaqul laah; innal laaha shadeedul 'iqaab

"O you who believe! Do not violate God’s sacraments, nor the Sacred Month, nor the offerings, nor the garlanded, nor those heading for the Sacred House seeking blessings from their Lord and approval. When you have left the pilgrim sanctity, you may hunt. And let not the hatred of people who barred you from the Sacred Mosque incite you to aggression. And cooperate with one another in virtuous conduct and conscience, and do not cooperate with one another in sin and hostility. And fear God. God is severe in punishment"

Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa innaa lan nadkhulahaa abadam maa daamoo feehaa fazhab anta wa Rabbuka faqaatilaaa innaa haahunaa qaa'idoon

"They said, “O Moses, we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are in it. So go ahead, you and your Lord, and fight. We are staying right here.”"

Qaala Rabbi innee laaa amliku illaa nafsee wa akhee fafruq bainanaa wa bainal qawmil faasiqeen

"He said, “My Lord! I have control only over myself and my brother, so separate between us and between the wicked people.”"

La'im basatta ilaiya yadaka litaqtulanee maaa ana bibaasitiny yadiya ilaika li aqtulaka inneee akhaaful laaha Rabbal 'aalameen

"“If you extend your hand to kill me, I will not extend my hand to kill you; for I fear God, Lord of the Worlds.”"

Wa qaalatil Yahoodu Yadullaahi maghloolah; ghulla aideehim wa lu'inoo bimaa qaaloo; bal yadaahu mabsoo tataani yunfiqu kaifa yashaaa'; wa la yazeedanna kaseeramm minhum maaa unzila ilaika mir Rabbika tughyaananw wa kufraa; wa alqainaa bainahumul 'adaawata wal baghdaaa a' ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamah; kullamaaa awqadoo naaral lilharbi at fa-ahal laah; wa yas'awna fil ardi fasaadaa; wal laahu laa yuhibbul mufsideen

"The Jews say, “God’s hand is tied.” It is their hands that are tied, and they are cursed for what they say. In fact, His hands are outstretched; He gives as He wills. Certainly, what was revealed to your from your Lord will increase many of them in defiance and blasphemy. And We placed between them enmity and hatred, until the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, God extinguishes it. And they strive to spread corruption on earth. God does not love the corrupters"

Wa law annahum aqaamut Tawraata wal Injeela wa maaa unzila ilaihim mir Rabbihim la akaloo min fawqihim wa min tahti arjulihim; minhum ummatum muqta sidatunw wa kaseerum minhum saaa'a maa ya'maloon

"Had they observed the Torah, and the Gospel, and what was revealed to them from their Lord, they would have consumed amply from above them, and from beneath their feet. Among them is a moderate community, but evil is what many of them are doing"

Yaaa aiyuhar Rasoolu balligh maaa unzila ilaika mir Rabbika wa il lam taf'al famaaa ballaghta Risaalatah; wallaahu ya'simuka minan naas; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmal kaafireen

"O Messenger, convey what was revealed to you from your Lord. But if you do not, then you would not have delivered His message. And God will protect you from the people. God does not guide the disbelieving people"

Qul yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lastum 'alaa shai'in hattaa tuqeemut Tawraata wal Injeela wa maaa unzila ilaikum mir Rabbikum; wa layazeedanna kaseeram minhum maa unzila ilaika mir Rabbika tugh yaananw wa kufran falaa taasa 'alal qawmil kaafireen

"Say, “O People of the Scripture! You have no basis until you uphold the Torah, and the Gospel, and what is revealed to you from your Lord.” But what is revealed to you from your Lord will increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief, so do not be sorry for the disbelieving people"

Laqad kafaral lazeena qaalooo innal laaha Huwal maseehub nu Maryama wa qaalal Maseehu yaa Baneee Israaa'eela budul laaha Rabbee wa Rabbakum innnahoo many-yushrik ballaahi faqad harramal laahu 'alaihil jannata wa maa waahun Naaru wa maa lizzaalimeena min ansaar

"They disbelieve those who say, “God is the Messiah the son of Mary.” But the Messiah himself said, “O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates others with God, God has forbidden him Paradise, and his dwelling is the Fire. The wrongdoers have no saviors.”"

Wa izaa sami'oo maaa unzila ilar Rasooli taraaa a'yunahum tafeedu minad dam'i mimmmaa 'arafoo minalhaqq; yaqooloona Rabbanaaa aamannaa faktubnaa ma'ash shaahideen

"And when they hear what was revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears, as they recognize the truth in it. They say, “Our Lord, we have believed, so count us among the witnesses.”"

Wa maa lanaa laa nu'minu billaahi wa maa jaaa'anaa minal haqqi wa natma'u ai yudkhilanaa Rabbunaa ma'al qawmis saaliheen

"“And why should we not believe in God, and in the truth that has come to us, and hope that our Lord will include us among the righteous people?”"

Iz qaalal hawaariyyoona yaa 'Eesab na Maryama hal yastatee'u Rabbuka ai yunaz zila 'alinaa maaa'idatam minas samaaa'i qaalat taqul laaha in kuntum mu'mineen

"“And when the disciples said, 'O Jesus son of Mary, is your Lord able to bring down for us a feast from heaven?' He said, 'Fear God, if you are believers.'“"

Qaala 'Eesab nu Maryamal laahumma Rabbanaaa anzil 'alainaa maaa'idatam minas samaaa'i takoonu lanaa 'eedal li awwalinaa wa aakirinaa wa Aayatam minka warzuqnaa wa Anta khairur raaziqeen

"Jesus son of Mary said, “O God, our Lord, send down for us a table from heaven, to be a festival for us, for the first of us, and the last of us, and a sign from You; and provide for us; You are the Best of providers.”"

Maa qultu lahum illaa maaa amartanee bihee ani'budul laaha Rabbeee wa Rabbakum; wa kuntu 'alaihim shaheedam maa dumtu feehim falammaa tawaffaitanee kunta Antar Raqeeba 'alaihim; wa Anta 'alaa kulli shai'in Shaheed

"I only told them what You commanded me: that you shall worship God, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them while I was among them; but when You took me to Yourself, you became the Watcher over them—You are Witness over everything"

Alhamdu lillaahil lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa ja'alaz zulumaati wannoor; summal lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim ya'diloon

"Praise be to God, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe equals to their Lord"

Wa maa taateehim min Aayatim min Aayaati Rabbihim illaa kaanoo 'anhaa mu'rideen

"Not one of their Lord’s signs comes to them, but they turn away from it"

Qul inneee akhaafu in 'asaitu Rabbee 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem

"Say, “I fear, should I defy my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day.”"

Summa lam takun fitnatuhum illaaa an qaaloo wallaahi Rabbinaa maa kunnaa mushrikeen

"Then their only argument will be to say, “By God, our Lord, we were not idolaters.”"

Wa law taraaa iz wauqifoo 'alan Naari faqaaloo yaa laitanaa nuraddu wa laa nukaz ziba bi Aayaati Rabbinaa wa nakoona minal mu'mineen

"If only you could see, when they are made to stand before the Fire; they will say, “If only we could be sent back, and not reject the revelations of our Lord, and be among the faithful.”"

Wa law taraa iz wuqifoo 'alaa Rabbihim; qaala alaisa haazaa bilhaqq; qaaloo balaa wa Rabbinaa; qaala fazooqul 'azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuroon

"If only you could see, when they are stationed before their Lord. He will say, “Is this not real?” They will say, “Yes indeed, by our Lord.” He will say, “Then taste the torment for having disbelieved.”"

Wa qaaloo law laa nuzzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; qul innal laaha qaadirun 'alaaa ai yunazzila Aayatanw wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

"And they say, “If only a sign could come down to him from his Lord.” Say, “God is Able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.”"

Wa maa min daaabbatin fil ardi wa laa taaa'iriny yateeru bijanaahaihi illaaa umamun amsaalukum; maa farratnaa fil Kitaabi min shai'in summa ilaa Rabbihim yuhsharoon

"There is no animal on land, nor a bird flying with its wings, but are communities like you. We neglected nothing in the Scripture. Then to their Lord they will be gathered"

Faquti'a daabirul qawmil lazeena zalamoo; walhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

"Thus the last remnant of the people who did wrong was cut off. And praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds"

Wa anzir bihil lazeena yakhaafoona ai yuhsharooo ilaa Rabbihim laisa lahum min doonihee waliyyunw wa laa shafee'ul la'allahum yattaqoon

"And warn with it those who fear to be gathered before their Lord—they have no protector or intercessor apart from him—perhaps they will grow in piety"

Wa laa tatrudil lazeena yad'oona Rabbahum bilghadaati wal 'ashiyyi yureedoona Wajhahoo ma 'alaika min hisaabihim min shai'inw wa maa min hisaabika 'alaihim min shai'in fatatrudahum fatakoona minaz zaalimeen

"And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord, morning and evening, seeking His attention. You are not accountable for them in any way, nor are they accountable for you in any way. If you drive them away, you would be one of the unjust"

Wa izaa jaaa'akal lazeena yu'minoona bi Aayaatinaa faqul salaamun 'alaikum kataba Rabbukum 'alaa nafsihir rahmata annahoo man 'amila minkum sooo'am bijahaalatin summa taaba mim ba'dihee wa aslaha fa annahoo Ghafoorur Raheem

"When those who believe in Our revelations come to you, say, “Peace be upon you, your Lord has prescribed mercy for Himself. Whoever among you does wrong out of ignorance, and then repents afterwards and reforms—He is Forgiving and Merciful.”"

Qul innee 'alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbee wa kazzabtum bih; maa 'indee maa tasta'jiloona bih; inil hukmu illaa lillaahi yaqussul haqqa wa Huwa khairul faasileen

"Say, “I stand on clear evidence from my Lord, and you have rejected Him. I do not possess what you seek me to hasten; the decision belongs solely to God. He states the truth, and He is the Best of Judges.”"

Qul anad'oo min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa'unaa wa laa yadurrunaa wa nuraddu 'alaaa a'qaabina ba'da iz hadaanal laahu kallazis tahwat hush Shayaateenu fil ardi hairaana lahooo ashaabuny yad'oo nahooo ilal huda' tinaa; qul inna hudal laahi huwal hudaa wa umirnaa linuslima li Rabbil 'aalameen

"Say, “Shall we invoke besides God something that can neither benefit us nor harm us, and turn back on our heels after God has guided us; like someone seduced by the devils and confused on earth, who has friends calling him to guidance: 'Come to us'?” Say, “The guidance of God is the guidance, and we are commanded to surrender to the Lord of the Universe.”"

Falammaa janna 'alaihil lailu ra aa kawkabaan qaala haaza Rabbee falammaaa afala qaala laaa uhibbul aafileen

"When the night fell over him, he saw a planet. He said, “This is my lord.” But when it set, he said, “I do not love those that set.”"

Falammmaa ra al qamara baazighan qaala haazaa Rabbee falammmmaaa afala qaala la'il lam yahdinee Rabbee la akoonanna minal qawmid daaalleen

"Then, when he saw the moon rising, he said, “This is my lord.” But when it set, he said, “If my Lord does not guide me, I will be one of the erring people.”"

Falammmaa ra ashshamsa baazighatan qaala haazaa Rabbee haazaaa akbaru falammaaa afalat qaala yaa qawmi innee bareee'um mimmaa tushrikoon

"Then, when he saw the sun rising, he said, “This is my lord, this is bigger.” But when it set, he said, “O my people, I am innocent of your idolatry"

Wa haaajjahoo qawmuh; qaala a-tuh aaajjooonnnee fillaahi wa qad hadaan; wa laaa akhaafu mmaa tushrikoona bihee illaaa ai yashaaa'a Rabbee shai'anw wasi'a Rabbee kulla shai'in 'ilman afalaa tatazakkaroon

"And his people argued with him. He said, “Do you argue with me about God, when He has guided me? I do not fear what you associate with Him, unless my Lord wills it. My Lord comprehends all things in knowledge. Will you not reconsider"

Wa tilka hujjatunaaa aatainaahaaa Ibraaheema 'alaa qawmih; narfa'u darajaatim man nashaaa'; inna Rabbaka Hakeemun 'Aleem

"That was Our argument which We gave to Abraham against his people. We elevate by degrees whomever We will. Your Lord is Wise and Informed"

Zaalikumul laahu Rabbukum laaa ilaaha illaa huwa khaaliqu kulli shai'in fa'budooh; wa huwa 'alaa kulli shai'inw Wakeel

"Such is God, your Lord. There is no god except He, the Creator of all things; so worship Him. He is responsible for everything"

Qad jaaa'akum basaaa'iru mir Rabbikum faman absara falinafsihee wa man 'amiya fa'alaihaa; wa maaa ana 'alaikum bihafeez

"“Insights have come to you from your Lord. Whoever sees, it is to the benefit of his soul; and whoever remains blind, it is to its detriment. I am not a guardian over you.”"

ittabi' maaa oohiya ilaika mir Rabbika laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa wa a'rid 'anil mushrikeen

"Follow what was revealed to you from your Lord. There is no god but He. And turn away from the polytheists"

Wa laa tasubbul lazeena yad'oona min doonil laahi fa yasubbul laaha 'adwam bighairi 'ilm; kazaalika zaiyannaa likulli ummatin 'amalahum summa ilaa Rabbihim marji'uhum fa yunabbi'uhum bimaa kaanooya'maloon

"Do not insult those they call upon besides God, lest they insult God out of hostility and ignorance. We made attractive to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do"

Wa kazaalika ja'alnaa likulli nabiyyin 'aduwwan Shayaateenal insi waljinni yoohee ba'duhum ilaa ba'din zukhrufal qawli ghurooraa; wa law shaaa'a Rabbuka maa fa'aloohu fazarhum wa maa yaftaroon

"Likewise, We have assigned for every prophet an enemy—human and jinn devils—inspiring one another with fancy words in order to deceive. But had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. So leave them to their fabrications"

Afaghairal laahi abtaghee hakamanw wa Huwal lazee anzala ilaikumul Kitaaba mufassalaa; wallazeena atai naahumul Kitaaba ya'lamoona annahoo munazzalum mir Rabbika bilhaqqi falaa takoonanna minal mumtareen

"“Shall I seek a judge other than God, when He is the One who revealed to you the Book, explained in detail?” Those to whom We gave the Book know that it is the truth revealed from your Lord. So do not be of those who doubt"

Wa tammat Kalimatu Rabbika sidqanw wa 'adlaa; laa mubaddila li Kalimaatih; wa Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem

"The Word of your Lord has been completed, in truth and justice. There is no changing to His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower"

Inna rabbaka Huwa a'lamu mai yadillu 'an sabeelihee wa Huwa a'lamu bilmuhtadeen

"Your Lord knows best who strays from His path, and He knows best the guided ones"

Wa maa lakum allaa taakuloo mimmaa zukirasmul laahi 'alaihi wa qad fassala lakum maa harrama 'alaikum illaa mad turirtum ilaih; wa inna kaseeral la yudilloona bi ahwaaa'ihim bighairi 'ilm; inna Rabbaka Huwa a'lamu bilmu'tadeen

"And why should you not eat of that over which the Name of God is pronounced, when He has detailed for you what is prohibited for you, unless you are compelled by necessity? Many lead astray with their opinions, through lack of knowledge. Your Lord knows best the transgressors"

Wa haazaa siraatu Rabbika Mustaqeemaa; qad fassalnal Aayaati liqawminy yazzakkaroon

"This is the straight path of your Lord. We have explained the revelations in detail for people who recollect"

Lahum daarus salaami 'inda Rabbihim wa huwa waliyyuhum bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon

"For them is the Home of Peace with their Lord, and He is their Master—because of what they used to do"

Wa yamwa yahshuruhum jamee'ai yaa ma'sharal jinni qadistaksartum minal insi wa qaala awliyaaa'uhy minal insi Rabbanas tamta'a ba'dunaa biba'dinw wa balaghnaaa ajalannal lazeee ajjalta lanaa; qaalan Naaru maswaakum khaalideena feehaaa illaa maa shaaa'allaah; inna Rabbaka Hakeemun 'Aleem

"On the Day when He gathers them all together: “O assembly of jinn, you have exploited multitudes of humans.” Their adherents among mankind will say, “Our Lord, we have profited from one another, but we have reached the term that you have assigned for us.” He will say, “The Fire is your dwelling, wherein you will remain, except as God wills. Your Lord is Wise and Informed"

Zaalika al lam yakkur Rabbuka muhlikal quraa bizulminw wa ahluhaa ghaafiloon

"That is because your Lord would not destroy towns for injustice while their inhabitants are unaware"

Wa likullin darajaatum mimmaa 'amiloo; wa maa Rabbuka bighaafilin 'ammaa ya'maloon

"They all have ranks according to what they did; and your Lord is not unaware of what they do"

Wa Rabbukal ghaniyyu zur rahmah; iny yashaaa yuz hibkum wa yastakhlif mim ba'dikum wa yastakhlif mim ba'dikum maa yashaaa'u kamaaa ansha akum min zurriyyati qawmin aakhareen

"Your Lord is the Rich Beyond Need, the Possessor of Mercy. If He wills, he can do away with you, and substitute whomever He wills in your place, just as He produced you from the descendants of another people"

Qul laaa ajidu fee maaa oohiya ilaiya muharraman 'alaa taa'iminy yat'amuhooo illaaa ai yakoona maitatan aw damam masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fa innahoo rijsun aw fisqan uhilla lighairil laahi bih; famanid turra ghaira baa ghinw wa laa 'aadin fa inna Rabbaka Ghafoorur Raheem

"Say, “In what was revealed to me, I find nothing forbidden to a consumer who eats it, except carrion, or spilled blood, or the flesh of swine—because it is impure—or a sinful offering dedicated to other than God. But if someone is compelled by necessity, without being deliberate or malicious—your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful"

Fa in kazzabooka faqur Rabbukum zoo rahmatinw waasi'atinw waasi'atinw wa laa yuraddu baasuhoo 'anil qawmil mujrimeen

"If they accuse you of lying, say, “Your Lord is Possessor of infinite mercy, but His wrath cannot be averted from the guilty people.”"

Qul halumma shuhadaaa'akumul lazeena yash hadoona annal laaha harrama haazaa fa in shahidoo falaa tashhad ma'ahum; wa laa tattabi' ahwaaa'al lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wallazeena laa yu'minoona bil Aakhirati wa hum bi Rabbihim ya'diloon

"Say, “Produce your witnesses who would testify that God has prohibited this.” If they testify, do not testify with them. And do not follow the whims of those who deny Our revelation, and those who do not believe in the Hereafter, and those who equate others with their Lord"

Qul ta'aalaw atlu maa harrama Rabbukum 'alaikum allaa tushrikoo bihee shai'anw wa bilwaalidaini ihsaananw wa laa taqtulooo aw alaadakum min imlaaq; nahnu narzuqukum wa iyyaahum wa laa taqrabul fawaahisha maa zahara minhaa wa maa batana wa laa taqtulun nafsal latee harramal laahu illaa bilhaqq; zaalikum wassaakum bihee la'allakum ta'qiloon

"Say, “Come, let me tell you what your Lord has forbidden you: that you associate nothing with Him; that you honor your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty—We provide for you and for them; that you do not come near indecencies, whether outward or inward; and that you do not kill the soul which God has sanctified—except in the course of justice. All this He has enjoined upon you, so that you may understand.”"

Summa aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba tammaaman 'alal lazeee ahsana wa tafseelal likulli shai'inw wa hudanw wa rahmatal la'allahum biliqaaa'i Rabbihim yu'minoon

"Then We gave Moses the Scripture, perfect for the righteous, and explaining everything clearly, and a beacon, and mercy, that they may believe in the encounter with their Lord"

Aw taqooloo law annaaa unzila 'alainal kitaabu lakunnaaa ahdaa minhum; faqad jaaa'akum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum wa hudanw wa rahmah; faman azlamu mimman kazzaba bi Aayaatil laahi wa sadaf 'anhaa; sanajzil lazeena yasdifoona 'an Aayaatinaa sooo'al 'azaabi bimaa kaanoo yasdifoon

"Or lest you say, “Had the Scripture been revealed to us, we would have been better guided than they.” Clarification has come to you from your Lord, and guidance, and mercy. Who then does greater wrong than he who gives the lie to God's messages, and turns away from them? We will repay those who turn away from Our messages with the worst kind of punishment, because of their turning away"

hal yanzuroona illaaa an taatiyahumul malaaa'ikatu aw yaatiya Rabbuka aw yaatiya ba'du Aayaati Rabbik; yawma yaatee ba'du Aayaati Rabbika laa yanfa'u nafsan eemaanuhaa lam takun aamanat min qablu aw kasabat feee eemaanihaa khairaa; qulin tazirooo innaa muntaziroon

"Are they waiting for anything but for the angels to come to them, or for your Lord to arrive, or for some of your Lord’s signs to come? On the Day when some of your Lord’s signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith unless it had believed previously, or had earned goodness through its faith. Say, “Wait, we too are waiting.”"

Qul innanee hadaanee Rabbeee ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeemin deenan qiyamam Millata Ibraaheema haneefaa; wa maa kaana minal mushrikeen

"Say, “My Lord has guided me to a straight path, an upright religion, the creed of Abraham the Monotheist, who was not a polytheist.”"

Qul inna Salaatee wa nusukee wa mahyaaya wa mamaatee lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

"Say, “My prayer and my worship, and my life and my death, are devoted to God, the Lord of the Worlds"

Qul aghairal laahi abhee Rabbanw wa Huwa Rabbu kulli shai'; wa laa taksibu kullu nafsin illaa 'alaihaa; wa laa taziru waaziratunw wizra ukhraa; summa ilaa Rabbikum marji'ukum fa yunabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum feehi takhtalifoon

"Say, “Am I to seek a Lord other than God, when He is the Lord of all things?” No soul gets except what it is due, and no soul bears the burdens of another. Then to your Lord is your return, then He will inform you regarding your disputes"

Wa Huwal lazee ja'alakum khalaaa'ifal ardi wa rafa'a ba'dakum fawqa ba'din darajaatil liyabluwakum fee maaa aataakum; inna Rabbaka saree'ul 'iqaab; wa innahoo la Ghafoorur Raheem

"It is He who made you successors on the earth, and raised some of you in ranks over others, in order to test you through what He has given you. Your Lord is Quick in retribution, and He is Forgiving and Merciful"

Ittabi'oo maaa unzila 'ilaikum mir Rabbikum wa laa tattabi'oo min dooniheee awliyaaa'; qaleelam maa tazakkaroon

"Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord, and do not follow other masters beside Him. Little you recollect"

Fawaswasa lahumash Shaitaanu liyubdiya lahumaa maa wooriya 'anhumaa min saw aatihimaa wa qaala maa nahaakumaa Rabbukumaa 'an haazihish shajarati illaaa an takoonaa malakaini aw takoonaa minal khaalideen

"But Satan whispered to them, to reveal to them their nakedness, which was invisible to them. He said, “Your Lord has only forbidden you this tree, lest you become angels, or become immortals.”"

Fadallaahumaa bighuroor; falammaa zaaqash shajarata badat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannati wa naadaahumaa Rabbuhumaaa alam anhakumaa 'an tilkumash shajarati wa aqul lakumaaa innash Shaitaana lakumaa 'aduwwum mubeen

"So he lured them with deceit. And when they tasted the tree, their nakedness became evident to them, and they began covering themselves with the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called out to them, “Did I not forbid you from this tree, and say to you that Satan is a sworn enemy to you?”"

Qaalaa Rabbanaa zalamnaaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

"They said, “Our Lord, we have done wrong to ourselves. Unless You forgive us, and have mercy on us, we will be among the losers.”"

Qul amara Rabbee bilqisti wa aqeemoo wujoohakum 'inda kulli masjidin wad'oohu mukhliseena lahud deen; kamaa bada akum ta'oodoon

"Say, “My Lord commands justice, and to stand devoted at every place of worship. So call upon Him, and dedicate your faith to Him alone. Just as He originated you, so you will return.”"

Qul innamaa harrama Rabbiyal fawaahisha maa zahara minhaa wa maa bataa wal isma walbaghya bighairil haqqi wa an tushrikoo billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaananw wa an taqooloo 'alal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

"Say, “My Lord has forbidden immoralities—both open and secret—and sin, and unjustified aggression, and that you associate with God anything for which He revealed no sanction, and that you say about God what you do not know.”"

Qaalad khuloo feee umamin qad khalat min qablikum minal jinni wal insifin naari kullamaa dakhalat ummatul la'anat ukhtahaa hattaaa izad daarakoo feehaa jamee'an qaalat ukhraahum li oolaahum Rabbannaa haaa'u laaa'i adalloonaa fa aatihim 'azaaban di'fam minan naari qaala likullin di funw wa laakil laa ta'lamoon

"He will say, “Join the crowds of jinn and humans who have gone into the Fire before you.” Every time a crowd enters, it will curse its sister-crowd. Until, when they are all in it, the last of them will say to the first of them, “Our Lord, these are the ones who misled us, so inflict on them a double punishment in the Fire.” He will say, “Each will have a double, but you do not know.”"

Wa naza'naa maa fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimul anhaaru wa qaalul hamdu lillaahil lazee hadaanaa lihaaza wa maa kunna linahtadiya law laaa ann hadaanal laahu laqad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; wa noodoo an tilkumul jannnatu ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

"We will remove whatever rancor is in their hearts. Rivers will flow beneath them. And they will say, “Praise be to God, who has guided us to this. Had God not guided us, we would never be guided. The messengers of our Lord did come with the truth.” And it will be proclaimed to them, “This is the Garden you are made to inherit, on account of what you used to do.”"

Wa naadaa Ashaabul jannati ashaaban Naari an qad wajadnaa maa wa'adannaa Rabbunaa haqqan fahal wajattum maa wa'ada Rabbukum haqqan qaaloo na'am; fa azzana mu'azzinum bainahum al la'natul laahi 'alaz zaalimeen

"And the inhabitants of the Garden will call out to the inmates of the Fire, “We found what our Lord promised us to be true; did you find what your Lord promised you to be true?” They will say, “Yes.” Thereupon a caller will announce in their midst, “The curse of God is upon the wrongdoers.”"

Wa izaa surifat absaaruhum tilqaaa'a Ashaabin Naari qaalo Rabbanaa laa taj'alnaa ma'al qawmiz zaalimneen

"And when their eyes are directed towards the inmates of the Fire, they will say, “Our Lord, do not place us among the wrongdoing people.”"

hal yanzuroona illaa taa weelah; yawma yaatee taaweeluhoo yaqoolul lazeena nasoohu min qablu qad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; fahal lanaa min shufa'aaa'a fa yashfa'oo lanaaa aw nuraddu fana'mala ghairal lazee kunnaa na'mal; qad khasirooo anfusahum wa dalla 'anhum maa kaanoo yaftaroon

"Are they waiting for anything but its fulfillment? The Day its fulfillment comes true, those who disregarded it before will say, “The messengers of our Lord did come with the truth. Have we any intercessors to intercede for us? Or, could we be sent back, to behave differently from the way we behaved before?” They ruined their souls, and what they used to invent has failed them"

Inna Rabbakkumul laahul lazee khalaqas sammaawaati wal arda fee sittati qiyaamin summmas tawaa 'alal 'arshi yughshil lailan nahaara yatlu buhoo haseesanw washshamsa walqamara wannujooma musakhkharaatim bi amrih; alaa lahul khalqu wal-amr; tabaarakal laahu Rabbul 'aalameen

"Your Lord is God; He who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself on the Throne. The night overtakes the day, as it pursues it persistently; and the sun, and the moon, and the stars are subservient by His command. His is the creation, and His is the command. Blessed is God, Lord of all beings"

Ud'oo Rabbakum tadarru'anw wa khufyah; innahoo laa yuhibbul mu'tadeen

"Call upon your Lord humbly and privately. He does not love the aggressors"

Walbaladut taiyibu yakhruju nabaatuhoo bi-izni Rabbihee wallazee khabusa laa yakhruju illaa nakidaa; kazaalika nusarriful Aayaati liqawminy yashkuroon

"As for the good land, it yields its produce by the leave of its Lord. But as for the bad, it produces nothing but hardship and misery. Thus We explain the revelations in various ways for people who are thankful"

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee dalaalatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

"He said, “O my people, I am not in error, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.”"

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ansahu lakum wa a'lamu minal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

"“I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I advise you, and I know from God what you do not know.”"

awa'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum wa litattaqoo wa la'allakum turhamoon

"“Do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord, through a man from among you, to warn you, and to lead you to righteousness, so that you may attain mercy?”"

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee safaahatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

"He said, “O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds"

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ana lakum naasihun ameen

"“I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser to you.”"

awa 'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum; wazkurooo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di qawmi noohinw wa zaadakum filkhalqi bastatan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi la'allakum tuflihoon

"“Are you surprised that a reminder has come to you from your Lord, through a man from among you, to warn you? Remember how He made you successors after the people of Noah, and increased you greatly in stature. And remember God’s blessings, so that you may prosper.”"

Qaala qad waqa'a alaikum mir Rabbikum rijsunw wa ghadab, atujaadiloonanee feee asmaaa'in sammaitumoohaaa antum wa aabaaa'ukum maa nazzalal laahu bihaa min sultaan; fantazirooo innee ma'akum minal muntazireen

"He said, “Condemnation and wrath have befallen you from your Lord. Are you arguing with me over names, which you and your ancestors invented, for which God sent down no authority? Just wait; I am waiting with you.”"

Wa ilaa Samooda akhaahum Saalihaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum haazihee naaqatul laahi lakum Aayatan fazaroohaa taakul feee ardil laahi wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo'in fa yaakhuzakum 'azaabun aleem

"And to Thamood, their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people! Worship God; you have no god other than Him. Clarification has come to you from your Lord. This she-camel of God is a sign for you. So leave her to graze on God’s earth, and do her no harm, lest a painful penalty seizes you.”"

Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lillazeenas tud'ifoo liman aamana minhum ata'almoona anna Saaliham mursalum mir Rabbih; qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursila bihee mu'minoon

"The elite of his people, who were arrogant, said to the common people who had believed, “Do you know that Saleh is sent from his Lord?” They said, “We are believers in what he was sent with.”"

Fa'aqarun naaqata wa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim wa qaaloo yaa Saalihu' tinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minal mursaleen

"So they hamstrung the she-camel, and defied the command of their Lord, and said, “O Saleh, bring upon us what you threaten us with, if you are one of the messengers.”"

Fa tawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalata Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum wa laakil laa tuhibboonan naasiheen

"Then he turned away from them, and said, “O my people, I have delivered to you the message of my Lord, and I have advised you, but you do not like those who give advice.”"

Wa ilaa Madyana akhaahum Shu'aybaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum fa awful kaila walmeezaana wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaa'ahum wa laa tufsidoo fil ardi ba'da islaahihaa; zaalikum khairul lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

"And to Median, their brother Shuaib. He said, “O my people, worship God; you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. Give full measure and weight, and do not cheat people out of their rights, and do not corrupt the land once it has been set right. This is better for you, if you are believers.”"

Qadif tarainaa 'alal laahi kaziban in 'udnaa fee millatikum ba'da iz najjaanal laahu minhaa; wa maa yakoonu lanaaa an na'ooda feehaaa illaaa ai yashaaa'al laahu Rabbunaa; wasi'a Rabbunaa kulla shai'in 'ilmaa; 'alal laahi tawakkalnaa; Rabbanaf tah bainanaa wa baina qawminaa bilhaqqi wa Anta khairul faatiheen

"“We would be fabricating falsehood against God, if we were to return to your religion, after God has saved us from it. It is not for us to return to it, unless God, our Lord, wills. Our Lord embraces all things in knowledge. In God we place our trust. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of Deciders.”"

Fatawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum fakaifa aasaa'alaa qawmin kaafireen

"So he turned away from them, and said, “O my people, I have delivered to you the messages of my Lord, and I have advised you, so why should I grieve over a disbelieving people?”"

Wa qaala Moosaa yaa Fir'awnu inee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

"Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.”"

Haqeequn 'alaaa al laaa aqoola 'alal laahi illal haqq; qad ji'tukum bibaiyinatim mir Rabbikum fa arsil ma'iya Baneee Israaa'eel

"“It is only proper that I should not say about God anything other than the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with me.”"

Qaaloo aamannaa bi Rabbil 'aalameen

"They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.”"

Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon

"“The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”"

Qaaloo innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqaliboon

"They said, “It is to our Lord that we will return.”"

Wa maa tanqimu minnaaa illaaa an aamannaa bi Aayaati Rabbinaa lammaa jaaa'atnaa; Rabbanaaa afrigh 'alainaa sabranw wa tawaffanaa muslimeen

"“You are taking vengeance on us only because we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they have come to us.” “Our Lord! Pour out patience upon us, and receive our souls in submission.”"

Qaaloo oozeenaa min qabli an taatiyanaa wa mim ba'di maa ji'tanaa; qaala 'asaa Rabbukum ai yuhlika 'aduwwakum wa yastakhli fakum fil ardi fayanzura kaifa ta'maloon

"They said, “We were persecuted before you came to us, and after you came to us.” He said, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy, and make you successors in the land; then He will see how you behave.”"

Wa lammaa waqa'a 'alaihimur rijzu qaaloo ya Moosad-u lanaa rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka la'in kashafta 'annar rijza lanu 'minanna laka wa lanursilanna ma'aka Banee Israaa'eel

"Whenever a plague befell them, they would say, “O Moses, pray to your Lord for us, according to the covenant He made with you. If you lift the plague from us, we will believe in you, and let the Children of Israel go with you.”"

Wa awrasnal qawmal lazeena kaanoo yustad'afoona mashaariqal ardi wa maghaari bahal latee baaraknaa feehaa wa tammat kalimatu Rabbikal husnaa 'alaa Baneee Israaa'eela bimaa sabaroo wa dammarnaa maa kaana yasna'u Fir'awnu wa qawmuhoo wa maa kaanoo ya'rishoon

"And We made the oppressed people inherit the eastern and western parts of the land, which We had blessed. Thus the fair promise of your Lord to the Children of Israel was fulfilled, because of their endurance. And We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built, and what they had harvested"

Wa iz anjainaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoo nakum sooo'al 'azaab, yuqattiloona abnaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem

"Remember how We saved you from Pharaoh’s people, who subjected you to the worst of sufferings—killing your sons and sparing your women. In that was a tremendous trial from your Lord"

Wa waa'adnaa Moosaa salaaseena lailatanw wa at mamnaahaa bi'ashrim fatamma meeqaatu Rabbihee arba'eena lailah; wa qaala Moosaa liakheehi Haaroonakh lufnee fee qawmee wa aslih wa laa tattabi' sabeelal mufsideen

"And We appointed to Moses thirty nights, and completed them with ten; and thus the time appointed by his Lord was forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron: “Take my place among my people, and be upright, and do not follow the way of the mischief-makers.”"

Wa lammaa jaaa'a Moosa limeeqaatinaa wa kallamahoo Rabbuhoo qaala Rabbi arineee anzur ilaik; qaala lan taraanee wa laakininzur ilal jabali fa inistaqarra makaanahoo faswfa taraanee; falammaa tajallaa Rabbuhoo liljabali ja'alahoo dakkanw wa kharra Moosaa sa'iqaa; falammaaa afaaqa qaala Subhaanaka tubtu ilaika wa ana awwalul mu'mineen

"And when Moses came to Our appointment, and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, allow me to look and see You.” He said, “You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it stays in its place, you will see Me.” But when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He turned it into dust, and Moses fell down unconscious. Then, when he recovered, he said, “Glory be to you, I repent to you, and I am the first of the believers.”"

Wa lammaa suqita feee aideehim wa ra aw annahum qad dalloo qaaloo la'il lam yarhamnaa Rabbunaa wa yaghfir lanaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

"Then, when they regretted, and realized that they had erred, they said, “Unless our Lord extends His mercy to us, and forgives us, we will be among the losers.”"

Wa lammaa raja'a Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifan qaala bi'samaa khalaftumoonee mim ba'dee a-'ajiltum amra Rabbikum wa alqal alwaaha wa akhaza biraasi akheehi yajurruhoo ilaih; qaalab na umma innal qawmas tad'afoonee wa kadoo yaqtu loonanee; falaa tushmit biyal a'daaa'a wa laa taj'alnee ma'al qawmiz zaalimeen

"And when Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed, he said, “What an awful thing you did in my absence. Did you forsake the commandments of your Lord so hastily?” And he threw down the tablets; and he took hold of his brother’s head, dragging him towards himself. He said, “Son of my mother, the people have overpowered me, and were about to kill me; so do not allow the enemies to gloat over me, and do not count me among the unjust people.”"

Qaala Rabbigh fir lee wa li akhee wa adkhilnaa fee rahmatika wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

"He said, “My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your mercy; for you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”"

Innal lazeenat takhazul 'ijla-sa yanaaluhum ghadabum mir Rabbihim wa zillatun fil hayaatid dunyaa; wa kazaalika najzil muftareen

"Those who idolized the calf have incurred wrath from their Lord, and humiliation in this life. We thus requite the innovators"

Wallazeena 'amilus saiyiaati summa taaboo mim ba'dihaa wa aamanooo inna Rabbaka mim ba'dihaa la Ghafoorur Raheem

"As for those who commit sins, and then repent afterwards and believe—your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful"

Wa lammaa sakata 'am Moosal ghadabu akhazal al waaha wa fee nnuskhatihaa hudanw wa rahmatul lillazeena hum li Rabbihim yarhaboon

"When the anger abated in Moses, he took up the tablets. In their transcript is guidance and mercy for those in awe of their Lord"

Wakhtaara Moosaa qawmahoo sab'eena rajjulal limeeqaatinaa falammaa akhazat humur rajfatu qaala Rabbi law shi'ta ahlaktahum min qablu wa iyyaaya atuhlikunna bimaa fa'alas sufahaaa'u minnaa in hiya illaa fitnatuka tudillu bihaa man tashaaa'u wa tahdee man tashaaa'u Anta waliyyunaa faghfir lanaa warhammnnaa wa Anta khairul ghaafireen

"And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. When the tremor shook them, he said, “My Lord, had You willed, You could have destroyed them before, and me too. Will you destroy us for what the fools among us have done? This is but Your test—with it You misguide whomever You will, and guide whomever You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are the Best of Forgivers.”"

Wa iz qaalat ummatum minhum lima ta'izoona qaw manil laahu muhlikuhum aw mu'azzibuhum 'azaaban shadeedan qaaloo ma'ziratan ilaa Rabbikum wa la'allahum tattaqoon

"And when a group of them said, “Why do you counsel a people whom God will annihilate, or punish with a severe punishment?” They said, “As an excuse to your Lord, and so that they may become righteous.”"

Wa iz ta azzana Rabbuka la yab'asannna 'alaihim ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati mai yasoomuhum sooo'al 'azaab; inna Rabbaka lasaree'ul 'iqaab; wa innahoo la Ghafoorur Raheem

"Your Lord has announced that, He would send against them, until the Day of Resurrection, those who would inflict terrible suffering upon them. Your Lord is swift in retribution, yet He is Forgiving and Merciful"

Wa iz akhaza Rabbuka mim Baneee Aadama min zuhoorihim zurriyyatahum wa ash hadahum 'alaa anfusihim alastu bi Rabbikum qaaloo balaa shahidnaaa; an taqooloo Yawmal Qiyaamati innaa kunnaa 'an haazaa ghaafileen

"And when Your Lord summoned the descendants of Adam, and made them testify about themselves. “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes, we testify.” Thus you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, “We were unaware of this.”"

Yas'aloonaka 'anis Saa'ati aiyaana mursaahaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabbee laa yujallaeehaa liwaqtihaaa illaa Hoo; saqulat fis samaawaati wal ard; laa taateekum illaa baghtah; yas'aloonaka ka annaka hafiyyun 'anhaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya'lamoon

"They ask you about the Hour, “When will it come?” Say, “Knowledge of it rests with my Lord. None can reveal its coming except He. It weighs heavily on the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except suddenly.” They ask you as if you are responsible for it. Say, “Knowledge of it rests with God,” but most people do not know"

Huwal lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw wa ja'ala minhaa zawjahaa liyas kuna ilaihaa falammaa taghash shaahaa hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihee falammaaa asqalad da'awal laaha Rabbahumaa la'in aayaitanaa saalihal lanakoo nanna minash shaakireen

"It is He who created you from a single person, and made from it its mate, that he may find comfort with her. Then, when he has covered her, she conceives a light load, and she carries it around. But when she has grown heavy, they pray to God their Lord, “if You give us a good child, we will be among the thankful.”"

Wa izaa lam taatihim bi aayatin qaaloo law lajtabai tahaa; qul innamaaa attabi'u maa yoohaaa ilaiya mir Rabbee; haazaa basaaa'iru mir Rabbikum wa hudanw wa rahmatul liqawminy yu'minoon

"If you do not produce a miracle for them, they say, “Why don’t you improvise one.” Say, “I only follow what is inspired to me from my Lord.” These are insights from your Lord, and guidance, and mercy, for a people who believe"

Wazkur Rabbaka fee nafsika tadarru'anw wa kheefatanw wa doonal jahri minal qawli bilghuduwwi wal aasali wa laa takum minal ghaafileen

"And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and fearfully, and quietly, in the morning and the evening, and do not be of the neglectful"

Innal lazeena 'inda Rabbika laa yastakbiroona 'an 'ibaadatihee wa yusabbihoonahoo wa lahoo yasjudoon

"Those who are in the presence of your Lord are not too proud to worship Him. They recite His praises, and to Him they bow down"

Innamal mu'minoonal lazeena izaa zukiral laahu wajilat quloobuhum wa izaa tuliyat 'alaihim Aayaatuhoo zaadat hum eemaananw wa 'alaa Rabbihim yatawakkaloon

"The believers are those whose hearts tremble when God is mentioned, and when His revelations are recited to them, they strengthen them in faith, and upon their Lord they rely"

Ulaaa'ika humul mu'minoona haqqaa; lahum darajaatun 'inda Rabbihim wa magh firatunw wa rizqun kareem

"These are the true believers. They have high standing with their Lord, and forgiveness, and a generous provision"

Kaamaaa akhrajaka Rabbuka mim baitika bilhaqq; wa inna fareeqam minal mu'mineena lakaarihoon

"Even as your Lord brought you out of your home with the truth, some believers were reluctant"

Iz tastagheesoona Rabbakum fastajaaba lakum annee mumiddukum bi alfim minal malaaa'ikati murdifeen

"When you appealed to your Lord for help, He answered you, “I am reinforcing you with one thousand angels in succession.”"

Iz yoohee Rabbuka ilal malaaa'ikati annee ma'akum fasabbitul lazeena aamanoo; sa ulqee fee quloobil lazeena kafarur ru'ba fadriboo fawqal a'naaqi wadriboo minhum kulla banaan

"Your Lord inspired the angels: “I am with you, so support those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So strike above the necks, and strike off every fingertip of theirs.”"

Kadaabi Aali Fir'awna wallazeena min qablihim; kazzaboo bi Aayaati Rabbihim faahlaknaahum bizunoobihim wa aghraqnaa Aala Fir'awn; wa kullun kaanoo zaalimeen

"Such was the case with the people of Pharaoh, and those before them. They denied the signs of their Lord, so We annihilated them for their wrongs, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh—they were all evildoers"

Yubashshiruhum Rabbuhum birahmatim minhu wa ridwaaninw wa Jannaatil lahum feehaa na'eemum muqeem

"Their Lord announces to them good news of mercy from Him, and acceptance, and gardens wherein they will have lasting bliss"

ittakhazooo ahbaarahum wa ruhbaanahum arbaabammin doonil laahi wal Maseehab na Maryama wa maaa umirooo illaa liya'budooo Ilaahanw Waa hidan laaa ilaaha illaa Hoo; Subhaanahoo 'ammaa yushrikoon

"They have taken their rabbis and their priests as lords instead of God, as well as the Messiah son of Mary. Although they were commanded to worship none but The One God. There is no god except He. Glory be to Him; High above what they associate with Him"

Fa in tawallaw faqul lhasbiyal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa 'alaihi tawakkkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul 'Arshil 'Azeem

"If they turn away, say, “God is enough for me; there is no god except He; in Him I have put my trust; He is the Lord of the Sublime Throne.”"

A kaana linnaasi 'aaban an awhainaaa ilaa rajulim minhum an anzirin naasa wa bashshiril lazeena aamanoo anna lahum qadama sidqin 'inda Rabbihim; qaalal kaafiroona inna haaza lasaahirum mubeen

"Is it a wonder to the people that We inspired a man from among them: “Warn mankind, and give good news to those who believe that they are on a sound footing with their Lord”? The disbelievers said, “This is a manifest sorcerer.”"

Inna Rabbakumul laahul lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda fee sittati aiyaamin summas tawaa 'alal 'Arshi yudabbirul amra maa min shafee'in illaa mim ba'di iznih; zalikumul laahu Rabbukum fa'budooh; afalaa tazakkaroon

"Your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then settled over the Throne, governing all things. There is no intercessor except after His permission. Such is God, your Lord—so serve Him. Will you not reflect"

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati yahdeehim Rabbuhum bi eemaanihim tajree min tahtihimul anhaaru fee jannaatin Na'eem

"As for those who believe and do good deeds, their Lord guides them in their faith. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Bliss"

Da'waahum feehaa Subbaanakal laahumma wa tahiyyatuhum feehaa salaam; wa aakhiru da'waahum anil hamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

"Their call therein is, “Glory be to You, our God.” And their greeting therein is, “Peace.” And the last of their call is, “Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.”"

Wa izaa tutlaa 'alaihim aayaatunaa baiyinaatin qaalal lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa'ana'ti bi Quraanin ghairi haazaaa aw baddilh; qul maa yakoonu leee an ubaddilahoo min tilqaaa'i nafsee in attabi'u illaa maa yoohaaa ilaiya inneee akhaafu in 'asaytu Rabbee 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeeem

"And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not hope to meet Us say, “Bring a Quran other than this, or change it.” Say, “It is not for me to change it of my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. I fear, if I disobeyed my Lord, the torment of a terrible Day.”"

Wa maa kaanan naasu illaaa ummmatanw waahidatan fakh talafoo; wa law laa kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika laqudiya bainahum fee maa feehi yakhtalifoon

"Mankind was a single community; then they differed. Were it not for a prior decree from your Lord, the matters over which they had disputed would have been settled"

W yaqooloona law laaa unzila 'alaihi aayatum mir Rabbihee faqul innamal ghaibu lillaahi fantaziroo innee ma'akum minal muntazireen

"And they say, “If only a miracle was sent down to him from his Lord.” Say, “The realm of the unseen belongs to God; so wait, I am waiting with you.”"

Fazaalikumul laahu Rabbukumul haqq; famaazaa ba'dal haqqi illad dalaalu fa annnaa tusrafoon

"Such is God, your Lord—the True. What is there, beyond the truth, except falsehood? How are you turned away"

Kazaalika haqqat Kalimatu Rabbika 'alal lazeena fasaqooo annahum laa yu'minoon

"Thus your Lord’s Word proved true against those who disobeyed, for they do not believe"

Wa maa kaana haazal Quraanu ai yuftaraa min doonil laahi wa laakin tasdeeqal lazee baina yadaihi wa tafseelal Kitaabi laa raiba fee mir Rabbil 'aalameen

"This Quran could not have been produced by anyone other than God. In fact, it is a confirmation of what preceded it, and an elaboration of the Book. There is no doubt about it—it is from the Lord of the Universe"

Wa minhum mai yu 'minu bihee wa minhum mal laa yu'minu bih; wa Rabbuka a'lamu bilmufsideen

"Among them are those who believe in it, and among them are those who do not believe in it. Your Lord is fully aware of the mischief-makers"

Wa yastambi'oonaka ahaqqun huwa qul ee wa Rabbeee innahoo lahaqq; wa maaa antum bimu'jizeen

"And they inquire of you, “Is it true?” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it is true, and you cannot evade it.”"

Yaaa aiyuhan naasu qad jaaa'atkum maw 'izatum mir Rabbikum wa shifaaa'ul limaa fis sudoori wa hudanw wa rahmatul lilmu'mineen

"O people! There has come to you advice from your Lord, and healing for what is in the hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers"

Wa maa takoonu fee shaaninw wa maa tatloo minhu min quraaninw wa laa ta'maloona min 'amalin illaa kunnaa 'alaikum shuhoodan iz tufeedoona feeh; wa maa ya'zubu 'ar Rabbika mim mis qaali zarratin fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa'i wa laaa asghara min zaalika wa laaa akbara illaa fee Kitaabim Mubeen

"You do not get into any situation, nor do you recite any Quran, nor do you do anything, but We are watching over you as you undertake it. Not even the weight of an atom, on earth or in the sky, escapes your Lord, nor is there anything smaller or larger, but is in a clear record"

Faqaaloo 'alal laahi tawakkalnaa Rabbanaa laa taj'alnaa fitnatal lilqawmiz zaalimeen

"They said, “In God we have put our trust. Our Lord, do not make us victims of the oppressive people.”"

Wa qaala Mosaa Rabbanaaa innaka aataita Fir'awna wa mala ahoo zeenatanw wa amwaalan fil hayaatid dunyaa Rabbanaa liyudillo 'ansabeelika Rabbanat mis 'alaaa amwaalihim washdud 'alaa quloobihim falaa yu'minoo hatta yarawul 'azaabal aleem

"Moses said, “Our Lord, you have given Pharaoh and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the worldly life. Our Lord, for them to lead away from Your path. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth, and harden their hearts, they will not believe until they see the painful torment.”"

Wa laqad bawwaanaa Baneee Israaa'eela mubawwa-a sidqinw wa razaqnaahum minnat taiyibaati famakh talafoo hattaa jaaa'ahmul 'ilm; inna Rabbaka yaqdee bainahum Yawmal Qiyaamati feemaa kaanoo feehi yakhtalifoon

"And We settled the Children of Israel in a position of honor, and provided them with good things. They did not differ until knowledge came to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences"

Fa in kunta fee shakkim mimmaaa anzalnaaa ilaika fas'alil lazeena yaqra'oonal Kitaaba min qablik; laqad jaaa'akal haqqu mir Rabbika falaa takoonanna minal mumtareen

"If you are in doubt about what We revealed to you, ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt"

Innal lazeena haqqat 'alaihim Kalimatu Rabbika laa yu'minoon

"Those against whom your Lord’s Word is justified will not believe"

Wa law shaaa'a Rabbuka la aamana man fil ardi kulluhum jamee'aa; afa anta tukrihun naasa hattaa yakoonoo mu'mineen

"Had your Lord willed, everyone on earth would have believed. Will you compel people to become believers"

Qul yaaa aiyuhan naasu qad jaaa'akumul haqqu mir Rabbikum famanih tadaa fa innamaa yahtadee linafsihee wa man dalla fa innamaa yadillu 'alaihaa wa maaa ana 'alaikum biwakeel

"Say, “O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Whoever accepts guidance is guided for his own soul; and whoever strays only strays to its detriment. I am not a guardian over you.”"

Wa anis taghfiroo Rabbakum summa toobooo ilaihi yumatti'kum mataa'an hasanan ilaaa ajalim musammanw wa yu'ti kulla zee fadlin fadlahoo wa in tawallaw fa inneee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin Kabeer

"“And ask your Lord for forgiveness, and repent to Him. He will provide you with good sustenance until a stated term, and will bestow His grace on every possessor of virtue. But if you turn away, then I fear for you the punishment of a grievous Day.”"

Afaman kaana 'alas baiyinatim mir Rabbihee wa yatloohu shaahidum minhu wa min qablihee Kitaabu Moosaaa imaamanw wa rahmah; ulaaa 'ika yu'minoona bih; wa mai yakfur bihee minal Ahzaabi fan Naaru maw'iduh; falaa taku fee miryatim minh; innahul haqqu mir Rabbika wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu'minoon

"Is he who possesses a clear proof from his Lord, recited by a witness from Him, and before it the Book of Moses, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it. But whoever defies it from among the various factions, the Fire is his promise. So have no doubt about it. It is the truth from your Lord, but most people do not believe"

Wa man azlamu mimmanif taraa 'alal laahi kazibaa; ulaaa'ika yu'radoona 'alaa Rabbihim wa yaqoolul ashhaa duhaaa'ulaaa'il lazeena kazaboo 'alaa Rabbihim; alaa la'natul laahi alaz zaalimeen

"Who does greater wrong than he who fabricates lies about God? These will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are they who lied about their Lord.” Indeed, the curse of God is upon the wrongdoers"

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati wa akhbatooo ilaa Rabbihim ulaaa'ika Ashaabul Jannati hum feehaa khaalidoon

"As for those who believe and do good deeds, and humble themselves before their Lord—these are the inhabitants of Paradise, where they will abide forever"

Qaala yaa qawmi ara'aitum in kuntu 'alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbee wa aataanee rahmatam min 'indihee fa'um miyat 'alaikum anulzimuku moohaa wa antum lahaa kaarihoon

"He said, “O my people, Have you considered? If I stand on clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, but you were blind to it, can we compel you to accept it, even though you dislike it?”"

Wa yaa qawmi laaa as'alukum 'alaihi maalan in ajriya illaa 'alal laah; wa maaa ana bitaaridil lazeena aamanoo; innahum mulaaqoo Rabbihim wa laakinneee araakum qawman tajhaloon

"“O my people! I ask of you no money for it. My reward lies only with God. And I am not about to dismiss those who believed; they will surely meet their Lord. And I see that you are ignorant people.”"

Wa laa yanfa'ukum nusheee in arattu an ansaha lakum in kaanal laahu yureedu ai yughwi yakum; Huwa Rabbukum wa ilaihi turja'oon

"“My advice will not benefit you, much as I may want to advise you, if God desires to confound you. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned.”"

Wa qaalar kaboo feehaa bismil laahi majraihaa wa mursaahaa; inna Rabbee la Ghafoorur Raheem

"He said, “Embark in it. In the name of God shall be its sailing and its anchorage. My Lord is indeed Forgiving and Merciful.”"

Wa naadaa noohur Rabbahoo faqaala Rabbi innabnee min ahlee wa inna wa'dakal haqqu wa Anta ahkamul haakimeen

"And Noah called to his Lord. He said, “O My Lord, my son is of my family, and Your promise is true, and You are the Wisest of the wise.”"

Qaala rabbi inneee a'oozu bika an as'alaka maa laisa lee bihee 'ilmunw wa illaa taghfir lee wa tarhamneee akum minal khaasireen

"He said, “O My Lord, I seek refuge with You, from asking You about what I have no knowledge of. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be one of the losers.”"

Wa yaa qawmis taghfiroo Rabbakum summa toobooo ilaihi yursilis samaaa'a 'alaikum midraaranw wa yazidkum quwwatan ilaa quwwatikum wa laa tatawallaw mujrimeen

"“O my people, ask forgiveness from your Lord, and repent to Him. He will release the sky pouring down upon you, and will add strength to your strength. And do not turn away and be wicked.”"

Innee tawakkaltu 'alallaahi Rabbee wa Rabbikum; maa min daaabbatin illaa Huwa aakhizum binaasiyatihaa; inna Rabbee 'alaa Siraatim mustaqeem

"I have placed my trust in God, my Lord and your Lord. There is not a creature but He holds it by the forelock. My Lord is on a straight path"

Fa in tawallaw faqad ablaghtukum maaa ursiltu biheee ilaikum; wa yastakhlifu Rabbee qawman ghairakum wa laa tadur roonahoo shai'aa; inna Rabbee 'alaa kulli shai'in Hafeez

"If you turn away, I have conveyed to you what I was sent to you with; and my Lord will replace you with another people, and you will not cause Him any harm. My Lord is Guardian over all things.”"

Wa tilka 'aad, jahadoo bi Aayaati Rabbihim wa 'asaw Rusulahoo wattaba'ooo amra kulli jabbaarin 'aneed

"That was Aad; they denied the signs of their Lord, and defied His messengers, and followed the lead of every stubborn tyrant"

Wa utbi'oo fee haazihid dunyaa la'natanw wa Yawmal Qiyaamah; alaaa inna 'Aadan kafaroo Rabbahum; alaa bu'dal li 'Aadin qawmin Hood

"And they were pursued by a curse in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Aad blasphemed against their Lord—so away with Aad, the people of Hud"

Wa ilaa Samooda akhaahum Saalihaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahim ghairuhoo Huwa ansha akum minal ardi wasta' marakum feehaa fastaghfiroohu summa toobooo ilaih; inna Rabbee Qareebum Mujeeb

"And to Thamood, their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people, worship God, you have no god other than Him. He initiated you from the earth, and settled you in it. So seek His forgiveness, and repent to Him. My Lord is Near and Responsive.”"

Qaala yaa qawmi ara'aytum in kuntu 'alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbee wa aataanee minhu rahmatan famai yansurunee minal laahi in 'asaituhoo famaa tazeedoonanee ghaira takhseer

"He said, “O my people, have you considered? If I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Him, who would protect me from God, if I disobeyed Him? You add nothing for me except loss.”"

Falammaa jaaa'a amrunaa najjainaa Saalihanw wal lazeena aamanoo ma'ahoo birahmatim minnaa wa min khizyi Yawmi'iz inna Rabbaka Huwal Qawiyyul 'Azeez

"Then, when Our command came, We saved Saleh and those who believed with him, by a mercy from Us, from the disgrace of that day. Your Lord is the Strong, the Mighty"

Ka al lam yaghnaw feehaaa; alaaa inna Samooda kafaroo Rabbahum; alaa bu'dal li Samood

"As if they had never prospered therein. Indeed, Thamood rejected their Lord, so away with Thamood"

Yaaa Ibraaheemu a'rid 'an haazaaa innahoo qad jaaa'a amru Rabbika wa innahum aateehim 'azaabun ghairun mardood

"“O Abraham, refrain from this. The command of your Lord has come; they have incurred an irreversible punishment.”"

Qaaloo yaa Lootu innaa Rusulu Rabbika lai yasiloo ilaika fa asri bi ahlika biqit 'im minal laili wa laa yaltafit minkum ahadun illam ra ataka innahoo museebuhaa maaa asaabahum; inna maw'i dahumus subh; alaisas subhu biqareeb

"They said, “O Lot, we are the envoys of your Lord; they will not reach you. So set out with your family during the cover of the night, and let none of you look back, except for your wife. She will be struck by what will strike them. Their appointed time is the morning. Is not the morning near?”"

Musawwamatan 'inda Rabbik; wa maa hiya minaz zaalimena biba'eed

"Marked from your Lord, and never far from the wrongdoers"

Qaala yaa qawmi ara'aitum in kuntu 'alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbee wa razaqanee minhu rizqan hasanaa; wa maaa ureedu an ukhaalifakum ilaa maaa anhaakum 'anh; in ureedu illal islaaha mastata't; wa maa tawfeeqeee illaa billaah; 'alaihi tawakkaltu wa ilaihi uneeb

"He said, “O my people, have you considered? What if I have clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me good livelihood from Himself? I have no desire to do what I forbid you from doing. I desire nothing but reform, as far as I can. My success lies only with God. In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.”"

Wastaghfiroo Rabbakum summa toobooo ilaih; inna Rabbee Raheemunw Wadood

"“And ask your Lord for forgiveness, and repent to Him. My Lord is Merciful and Loving.”"

Qaala yaa qawmi arahteee a'azzu 'alaikum minal laahi wattakhaztumoohu waraaa'akum zihriyyan inna Rabbee bimaa ta'maloona muheet

"He said, “O my people, is my tribe more important to you than God? And you have turned your backs on Him? My Lord comprehends everything you do.”"

Wa maa zalamnaahum wa laakin zalamooo anfusahum famaaa aghnat 'anhum aalihatuhumul latee yad'oona min doonil laahi min shai'il lammaa jaaa'a amru Rabbika wa maa zaadoohum ghaira tatbeeb

"We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. Their gods, whom they invoked besides God, availed them nothing when the command of your Lord arrived. In fact, they added only to their ruin"

Wa kazaalika akhzu Rabbika izaaa akhazal quraa wa hiya zaalimah; inna akhzahooo aleemun shadeed

"Such is the grip of your Lord when He seizes the towns in the midst of their sins. His grip is most painful, most severe"

Khaalideena feehaa maa daamatis samaawaatu wal ardu illaa maa shaaa'a Rabbuk; inna Rabbaka fa' 'aalul limaa yureed

"Remaining therein for as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Your Lord is Doer of whatever He wills"

Wa ammal lazeena su'idoo fafil Jannati khaalideena feehaa maa daamatis samaawaatu wal ardu illaa maa shaaa'a Rabbuk; ataaa'an ghaira majzooz

"And as for those who are happy, they will be in Paradise, remaining therein for as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills—a reward without end"

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba fakhtulifa feeh; wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika laqudiya bainahum; wa innahum lafee shakkim minhu mureeb

"We gave Moses the Scripture, but it was disputed. Were it not for a prior word from your Lord, it would have been settled between them. They are in serious doubt concerning it"

Wa inna kullal lammaa la yuwaffiyannahum Rabbuka a'maalahum; innahoo bimaa ya'maloona Khabeer

"Your Lord will repay each one of them in full for their deeds. He is Aware of everything they do"

Wa maa kaana Rabbuka liyuhlikal quraa bizulminw wa ahluhaa muslihoon

"Your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their inhabitants are righteous"

Wa law shaaa'a Rabbuka laja'alannnaasa ummatanw waa hidatanw wa laa yazaaloona mukhtalifeen

"Had your Lord willed, He could have made humanity one community, but they continue to differ"

Illaa mar rahima Rabbuk; wa lizaalika khalaqahum; wa tammat Kalimatu Rabbika la amla'ana Jahannama minal jinnati wannnaasi ajma'een

"Except those on whom your Lord has mercy—for that reason He created them. The Word of your Lord is final: “I will fill Hell with jinn and humans, altogether.”"

Wa lillaahi ghaibus samaawaati wal ardi wa ilaihi yurja'ul amru kulluhoo fa'bu-dhu wa tawakkal 'alaih; wa maa Rabbuka bighaafilin 'ammaa ta'maloon

"To God belongs the future of the heavens and the earth, and to Him all authority goes back. So worship Him, and rely on Him. Your Lord is never unaware of what you do"

Wa kazaalika yajtabeeka rabbuka wa yu'allimuka min taaweelil ahaadeesi wa yutimmu ni'matahoo 'alaika wa 'alaaa Aali Ya'qooba kamaaa atammahaa 'alaaa abawaika min qablu Ibraaheema wa Ishaaq; inna Rabbaka 'Aleemun hakeem

"And thus your Lord will choose you, and will teach you the interpretation of events, and will complete His blessing upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He has completed it before upon your forefathers Abraham and Isaac. Your Lord is Knowing and Wise"

Wa raawadat hul latee huwa fee baitihaa 'an nafsihee wa ghallaqatil abwaaba wa qaalat haita lak; qaala ma'aazal laahi innahoo rabbeee ahsana maswaay; innahoo laa yuflihuz-zaalimoon

"She in whose house he was living tried to seduce him. She shut the doors, and said, “I am yours.” He said, “God forbid! He is my Lord. He has given me a good home. Sinners never succeed.”"

Wa laqad hammat bihee wa hamma bihaa law laaa ar ra-aa burhaana rabbih;; kazaalika linasrifa 'anhu sooo'a walfa hshaaa'; innahoo min 'ibaadi nal mukhlaseen

"She desired him, and he desired her, had he not seen the proof of his Lord. It was thus that We diverted evil and indecency away from him. He was one of Our loyal servants"

Qaala rabbis sijnu ahabbu ilaiya mimma yad'oo naneee 'ilaihi wa illaa tasrif 'annee kaidahunna asbu ilaihinna wa akum minal jaahileen

"He said, “My Lord, prison is more desirable to me than what they call me to. Unless You turn their scheming away from me, I may yield to them, and become one of the ignorant.”"

Fastajaaba lahoo rabbuhoo fasarafa 'anhu kaidahunn; innahoo Huswas_Samee'ul 'Aleem

"Thereupon his Lord answered him, and diverted their scheming away from him. He is the Hearer, the Knower"

Qaala laa yaateekumaa ta'aamun turzaqaaniheee illaa nabbaatukumaa bitaaweelihee qabla any yaatiyakumaa; zaali kumaa mimmaa 'allamanee rabbee; innee taraktu millata qawmil laa yu'minoona billaahi wahum bil aakhirati hum kaafiroon

"He said, “No food is served to you, but I have informed you about it before you have received it. That is some of what my Lord has taught me. I have forsaken the tradition of people who do not believe in God; and regarding the Hereafter, they are deniers.”"

Yaa saahibayis sijni 'a-arbaabum mutafarriqoona khayrun amil laahul waahidul qahhaar

"“O My fellow inmates, are diverse lords better, or God, the One, the Supreme?”"

Wa qaalal maliku'toonee bihee falammaa jaaa'ahur rasoolu qaalar-ji ilaa rabbika fas'alhu maa baalun niswatil laatee qatta'na aydiyahunn; inna Rabbee bikaidihinna 'Aleem

"The king said, “Bring him to me.” And when the envoy came to him, he said, “Go back to your master, and ask him about the intentions of the women who cut their hands; my Lord is well aware of their schemes.”"

Wa maa ubarri'u nafsee; innan nafsa la ammaaratum bissooo'i illaa maa rahima Rabbee; inna Rabbee Ghafoorur Raheem

"“Yet I do not claim to be innocent. The soul commands evil, except those on whom my Lord has mercy. Truly my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”"

Qaala sawfa astaghfiru lakum Rabbeee innahoo Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem

"He said, “I will ask my Lord to forgive you. He is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful.”"

Wa raf'a abawaihi 'alal 'arshi wa kharroo lahoo sujjadaa; wa qaala yaaa abati haaza taaweelu ru'yaaya min qablu qad ja'alahaa Rabbee haqqaa; wa qad ahsana beee iz akhrajanee minas sijni wa jaaa'a bikum minal badwi mim ba'di an nazaghash Shaitaanu bainee wa baina ikhwatee; inna Rabbee lateeful limaa yashaaa'; innahoo Huwal 'Aleemul Hakeem

"And he elevated his parents on the throne, and they fell prostrate before him. He said, “Father, this is the fulfillment of my vision of long ago. My Lord has made it come true. He has blessed me, when he released me from prison, and brought you out of the wilderness, after the devil had sown conflict between me and my brothers. My Lord is Most Kind towards whomever He wills. He is the All-knowing, the Most Wise.”"

Rabbi qad aataitanee minal mulki wa 'allamtanee min taaweelil ahaadees; faati ras samaawaati wal ardi Anta waliyyee fid dunyaa wal Aakhirati tawaffanee muslimanw wa alhiqnee bissaaliheen

"“My Lord, You have given me some authority, and taught me some interpretation of events. Initiator of the heavens and the earth; You are my Protector in this life and in the Hereafter. Receive my soul in submission, and unite me with the righteous.”"

Alif-Laaam-Meeem-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaab; wallazee unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu'minoon

"Alif, Lam, Meem, Ra. These are the signs of the Scripture. What is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe"

Allaahul lazee raf'as samaawaati bighairi 'amadin tarawnahaa summas tawaa 'alal 'Arshi wa sakhkharash shamsa walqamara kulluny yajree li ajalim musammaa; yudabbirul amra yufassilil Aayaati la'allakum biliqaaa'i Rabbikum tooqinoon

"God is He who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, and then settled on the Throne. And He regulated the sun and the moon, each running for a specified period. He manages all affairs, and He explains the signs, that you may be certain of the meeting with your Lord"

Wa in ta'jab fa'ajabun qawluhm 'a-izaa kunna turaaban 'a-inna lafee khalqin jadeed; ulaaa 'ikal lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim wa ulaaa'ikal aghlaalu feee a'naaqihim wa ulaa'ika Ashaabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

"Should you wonder—the real wonder is their saying: “When we have become dust, will we be in a new creation?” Those are they who defied their Lord. Those are they who will have yokes around their necks. Those are the inhabitants of the Fire, where they will remain forever"

Wa yasta'jiloonaka bis saiyi'ati qablal hasanati wa qad khalat min qablihimul masulaat; wa inna Rabbaka lazoo maghfiratil linnaasi 'alaa zulmihim wa inna Rabbaka lashadeedul 'iqaab

"And they urge you to hasten evil before good, though examples have passed away before them. Your Lord is full of forgiveness towards the people for their wrongdoings, yet your Lord is severe in retribution"

Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; innamaaa anta munzirunw wa likulli qawmin haad

"Those who disbelieve say, “Why was a miracle not sent down to him from his Lord?” You are only a warner, and to every community is a guide"

Wul mar Rabbus samaawaati wal ard; qulillaah; qul afattakhaztum min dooniheee awliyaaa'a laa yamlikoona li anfusihim naf'anw wa laa darraa; qul hal yastawil a'maa wal baseeru am hal tastawiz zulumaatu wannoor; am ja'aloo lillaahi shurakaaa'a khalaqoo kakhalqihee fatashaa bahal khalqu 'alaihim; qulil laahu Khaaliqu kulli shai'inw wa Huwal Waahidul Qahhar

"Say, “Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?” Say, “God.” Say, “Have you taken besides Him protectors, who have no power to profit or harm even themselves?” Say, “Are the blind and the seeing equal? Or are darkness and light equal? Or have they assigned to God associates, who created the likes of His creation, so that the creations seemed to them alike? Say, “God is the Creator of all things, and He is The One, the Irresistible.”"

Lillazeenas tajaaboo lirabbihimul husnaa; wallazeena lam yastajeeboo lahoo law anna lahum maa fil ardi jamee'anw wa mislahoo ma'ahoo laftadaw bih; ulaaa'ika lahum sooo'ul hisaab; wa maawaahum Jahannamu wa bi'sal mihaad

"For those who respond to their Lord is the best. But as for those who do not respond to Him, even if they possessed everything on earth, and twice as much, they could not redeem themselves with it. Those will have the worst reckoning; and their home is Hell—a miserable destination"

Afamai ya'lamu annamaaa unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu kaman huwa a'maa; innamaa yatazakkaru ulul albaab

"Is he who knows that what was revealed to your from your Lord is the truth, like him who is blind? Only those who reason will remember"

Wallazeena yasiloona maaa amaral laahu bihee an yoosala wa yakhshawna Rabbahum wa yakhaafoona sooo'al hisaab

"And those who join what God has commanded to be joined, and fear their Lord, and dread the dire reckoning"

Wallazeena sabarub tighaaa'a Wajhi Rabbihim wa aqaamus Salaata wa anfaqoo mimmaa razaqnaahum sirranw wa 'alaaniyatanw wa yadra'oona bilhasanatis saiyi'ata ulaaa'ika lahum 'uqbad daar

"And those who patiently seek the presence of their Lord, and pray regularly, and spend from Our provisions to them, secretly and openly, and repel evil with good. These will have the Ultimate Home"

Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; qul innal laaha yudillu mai yashaa'u wa yahdeee ilaihi man anaab

"Those who disbelieve say, “If only a miracle was sent down to him from his Lord.” Say, “God leads astray whomever He wills, and He guides to Himself whoever repents.”"

Kazaalika arsalnaaka feee ummatin qad khalat min qablihaaa umamul litatluwa 'alaihimul lazeee awhainaaa ilaika wa hum yakfuroona bir Rahmaaan; qul Huwa Rabbee laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbee laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa 'alaihi tawakkaltu wa ilaihi mataab

"Thus We sent you among a community before which other communities have passed away, that you may recite to them what We revealed to you. Yet they deny the Benevolent One. Say, “He is my Lord; there is no god but He; in Him I trust, and to Him is my repentance.”"

Alif-Laaam-Raa; Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika litukhrijan-naasa minaz zulumaati ilan noori bi-izni Rabbihim ilaa siraatil 'Azeezil Hameed

"Alif, Lam, Ra. A Scripture that We revealed to you, that you may bring humanity from darkness to light—with the permission of their Lord—to the path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy"

Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihiz kuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum iz anjaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoo nakum sooo'al 'azaabi wa yuzabbihoona abnaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem

"Moses said to his people, “Remember God’s blessings upon you, as He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, who inflicted on you terrible suffering, slaughtering your sons while sparing your daughters. In that was a serious trial from your Lord.”"

Wa iz ta azzana Rabbukum la'in shakartum la azeedannakum wa la'in kafartum inn'azaabee lashadeed

"And when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will grant you increase; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.”"

Wa qaalal lazeena kafaroo li Rusulihim lanukhrijanna kum min aardinaaa aw lata'oo dunna fee millatinaa fa awhaaa ilaihim Rabbuhum lanuhlikannaz zalimeen

"Those who disbelieved said to their messengers, “We will expel you from our land, unless you return to our religion.” And their Lord inspired them: “We will destroy the wrongdoers.”"

Masalul lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim a'maaluhum karamaadinish taddat bihir reehu fee yawmin 'aasif; laa yaqdiroona mimmaa kasaboo 'alaa shai'; zaalika huwad dalaalul ba'eed

"The likeness of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their works are like ashes, in a fierce wind, on a stormy day. They have no control over anything they have earned. That is the utmost misguidance"

Wa udkhilal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa bi izni Rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salaam

"But those who believed and did good deeds will be admitted into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to remain therein forever, by leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: “Peace.”"

Tu'teee ukulahaa kulla heenim bi izni Rabbihaa; wa yadribul laahul amsaala linnaasi la'allahum yatazak karoon

"It yields its fruits every season by the will of its Lord. God presents the parables to the people, so that they may reflect"

Wa iz qaala Ibraaheemu Rabbij 'al haazal balada aaminanw wajnubnee wa baniyya an na'budal asnaam

"Recall that Abraham said, “O my Lord, make this land peaceful, and keep me and my sons from worshiping idols.”"

Rabbi innahunna adlalna kaseeram minan naasi faman tabi'anee fa innahoo minnee wa man 'asaanee fa innaka Ghafoorur Raheem

"“My Lord, they have led many people astray. Whoever follows me belongs with me; and whoever disobeys me—You are Forgiving and Merciful"

Rabbanaaa inneee askantu min zurriyyatee biwaadin ghairi zee zar'in 'inda Baitikal Muharrami Rabbanaa liyuqeemus Salaata faj'al af'idatam minan naasi tahweee ilaihim warzuqhum minas samaraati la'allahum yashkuroon

"“Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a valley of no vegetation, by Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may perform the prayers. So make the hearts of some people incline towards them, and provide them with fruits, that they may be thankful.”"

Rabbanaaa innaka ta'lamu maa nukhfee wa maa nu'lin; wa maa yakhfaa 'alal laahi min shai'in fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa

"“Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. And nothing is hidden from God, on earth or in the heaven.”"

Alhamdu lillaahil lazee wahaba lee 'alal kibari Ismaa'eela wa Ishaaq; inna Rabbee lasamee'ud du'aaa

"“Praise be to God, Who has given me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac. My Lord is the Hearer of Prayers.”"

Rabbij 'alnee muqeemas Salaati wa min zurriyyatee Rabbanaa wa taqabbal du'aaa

"“My Lord, make me one who performs the prayer, and from my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.”"

Rabbanagh fir lee wa liwaalidaiya wa lilmu'mineena Yawma yaqoomul hisaab

"“Our Lord, forgive me, and my parents, and the believers, on the Day the Reckoning takes place.”"

Wa anzirin naasa Yawma yaateehimul 'azaabu fa yaqoolul lazeena zalamoo Rabbanaaa akhkhirnaaa ilaaa ajalin qareebin nujib da'wataka wa nattabi 'ir Rusul; awalam takoonooo aqsamtum min qablu maa lakum min zawaal

"And warn mankind of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and the wicked will say, “Our Lord, defer us for a little while, and we will answer Your call and follow the messengers.” Did you not swear before that there will be no passing away for you"

Wa inna Rabbaka Huwa yahshuruhum; innahoo Hakeem 'Aleem

"It is your Lord who will gather them together. He is the Wise, the Knowing"

Wa iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa' ikati innee khaaliqum basharam min salsaalim min hama im masnoon

"Your Lord said to the angels, “I am creating a human being from clay, from molded mud.”"

Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

"He said, “My Lord, reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected.”"

Qaala Rabbi bimaaa aghwaitanee la uzayyinaana lahum fil ardi wa la ughwiyan nahum ajma'een

"He said, “My Lord, since You have lured me away, I will glamorize for them on earth, and I will lure them all away.”"

Qaala wa mai yaqnatu mir rahmati Rabbiheee illad daaaloon

"He said, “And who despairs of his Lord’s mercy but the lost?”"

Inna Rabbaka Huwal khallaaqul 'aleem

"Your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator"

Fawa Rabbika lanas'a lannahum ajma'een

"By your Lord, we will question them all"

Fasbbih bihamdi Rabbika wa kum minas saajideen

"So glorify the praise of your Lord, and be among those who bow down"

Wa'bud Rabbaka hattaa yaatiyakal yaqeen

"And worship your Lord in order to attain certainty"

Wa tahmilu asqaalakum ilaa baladil lam takoonoo baaligheehi illaa bishiqqil anfus; inna Rabbakum la Ra'oofur Raheem

"And they carry your loads to territory you could not have reached without great hardship. Your Lord is Clement and Merciful"

Wa izaa qeela lahum maazaaa anzala Rabbukum qaaloo asaateerul awwaleen

"And when it is said to them, “What has your Lord sent down?” They say, “Legends of the ancients.”"

Wa qeela lillazeenat taqaw maazaaa anzala Rabbukum; qaaloo khairaa; lillazeena absanoo fee haazihid dunyaa hasanah; wa la Daarul Aakhirati khair; wa lani'ma daarul muttaqeen

"And it will be said to those who maintained piety, “What has your Lord revealed?” They will say, “Goodness.” To those who do good in this world is goodness, and the Home of the Hereafter is even better. How wonderful is the residence of the pious"

Hal yanzuroona illaaa an taatiyahumul malaaa'ikatu aw yaatiya amru Rabbik; kazaalika fa'alal lazeena min qablihim; wa maa zalamahumul laahu wa laakin kaanoo anfusahum yazlimoon

"Are they but waiting for the angels to come to them, or for the command of your Lord to arrive? Those before them did likewise. God did not wrong them, but they used to wrong their own souls"

Allazeena sabaroo wa 'alaa Rabbihim yatawak kaloon

"Those who endure patiently, and in their Lord they put their trust"

Aw yaakhuzahum 'alaa takhawwuf; fa inna Rabbakum la Ra'oofur Raheem

"Or that He will not seize them while in dread? Your Lord is Gentle and Merciful"

yakhaafoona Rabbahum min fawqihim wa yaf'aloona maa yu'maroon

"They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded"

Summaa izaa kashafad durra 'ankum izaa fareequm minkum bi Rabbihim yushrikoon

"But when He lifts the harm from you, some of you associate others with their Lord"

Wa awhaa Rabbuka ilannnabli anit takhizee minal jabaali buyootanw wa minash shajari wa mimmaa ya'rishoon

"And your Lord inspired the bee: “Set up hives in the mountains, and in the trees, and in what they construct.”"

Summma kulee min kullis samaraati faslukee subula Rabbiki zululaa; yakhruju mim butoonihaa sharaabum mukh talifun alwaanuhoo feehi shifaaa'ul linnaas, innna fee zaalika la Aayatal liqawminy yatafakkaroon

"Then eat of all the fruits, and go along the pathways of your Lord, with precision. From their bellies emerges a fluid of diverse colors, containing healing for the people. Surely in this is a sign for people who reflect"

Wa izaa ra al lazeena ashrakoo shurakaaa'ahum qaaloo Rabbana haaa'ulaaa'i shurakaaa'unal lazeena kunnaa nad'oo min doonika fa alqaw ilaihimul qawla innakum lakaaziboon

"And when the idolaters see their associates, they will say, “Our Lord, these are our associates whom we used to invoke besides You.” They will strike back at them with the saying, “Surely you are liars.”"

Innahoo laisa lahoo sultaanun 'alal lazeena aamanoo wa 'alaa Rabbihim yatawakkaloon

"He has no authority over those who believe and trust in their Lord"

Qul nazzalahoo Roohul Qudusi mir Rabbika bilhaqqi liyusabbital lazeena aamanoo wa hudanw wa bushraa lilmuslimeen

"Say, “The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord, truthfully, in order to stabilize those who believe, and as guidance and good news for those who submit.”"

Summa inna Rabbaka lillazeena haajaroo mim ba'dimaa futinoo summma jaahadoo wa sabaroo inna Rabbaka mim ba'dihaa la Ghafoorur Raheem

"But then your Lord—for those who emigrated after being persecuted, then struggled and persevered—your Lord thereafter is Forgiving and Merciful"

Summma inna Rabbaka lillazeena 'amilus sooo'a bijahaalatin summa taaboo mim ba'di zaaalika wa aslahoo inna Rabbaka mim ba'dihaa la Ghafoorur Raheem

"But towards those who do wrongs in ignorance, and then repent afterwards and reform, your Lord thereafter is Forgiving and Merciful"

Innnamaa ju'ilas Sabtu 'alal lazeenakhtalafoo feeh; wa inna Rabbaka la yahkumu bainahum Yawmal Qiyaamati feemaa kaanoo feehi yakhtalifoon

"The Sabbath was decreed only for those who differed about it. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences"

Ud'u ilaa sabeeli Rabbika bilhikmati walmaw 'izatil hasanati wa jaadilhum billatee hiya ahsan; inna Rabbaka huwa a'almu biman dalla 'an sabeelihee wa Huwa a'lamu bilmuhtadeen

"Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and debate with them in the most dignified manner. Your Lord is aware of those who stray from His path, and He is aware of those who are guided"

Asaa rabbukum anyyarhamakum; wa in 'uttum 'udnaa; wa ja'alnaa jahannama lilkaafireena haseera

"Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you. But if you revert, We will revert. We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers"

Wa ja'alnal laila wannahaara Aayatayni famahawnaaa Aayatal laili wa ja'alnaaa Aayatan nahaari mubsiratal litabtaghoo fadlam mir Rabbikum wa lita'lamoo 'adadas sineena walhisaab; wa kulla shai'in fassalnaahu tafseelaa

"We have made the night and the day two wonders. We erased the wonder of the night, and made the wonder of the day revealing, that you may seek bounty from your Lord, and know the number of years, and the calculation. We have explained all things in detail"

Wa kam ahlaknaa minal qurooni mim ba'di Nooh; wa kafaa bi Rabbika bizunoobi 'ibaadihee Khabeeram Baseeraa

"How many generations have We destroyed after Noah? Your Lord is sufficient as Knower and Beholder of the sins of his servants"

Kullan numiddu haaa 'ulaaa'i wa haaa'ulaaa'i min 'ataaa'i rabbik; wa maa kaana 'ataaa'u rabbika mahzooraa

"To all—these and those—We extend from the gifts of your Lord. The gifts of your Lord are not restricted"

Wa qadaa Rabbuka allaa ta'budooo illaaa iyyaahu wa bilwaalidaini ihsaanaa; immaa yablughanna 'indakal kibara ahaduhumaaa aw kilaahumaa falaa taqul lahumaaa uffinw wa laa tanharhumaa wa qullahumaa qawlan kareemaa

"Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents. If either of them or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor scold them, but say to them kind words"

Wakhfid lahumaa janaahaz zulli minar rahmati wa qur Rabbir hamhumaa kamaa rabbayaanee sagheera

"And lower to them the wing of humility, out of mercy, and say, “My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was a child.”"

Rabbukum a'lamu bimaa fee nufoosikum; in takoonoo saaliheena fa innahoo kaana lil awwaabeena Ghafoooraa

"Your Lord knows best what is in your minds. If you are righteous—He is Forgiving to the obedient"

Innal mubazzireena kaanoo ikhwaanash shayaateeni wa kaanash shaytaanu li Rabbihee kafooraa

"The extravagant are brethren of the devils, and the devil is ever ungrateful to his Lord"

Wa immaa turidanna 'anhumub tighaaa'a rahmatim mir rabbika tarjoohaa faqul lahum qawlam maisooraa

"But if you turn away from them, seeking mercy from your Lord which you hope for, then say to them words of comfort"

Inna Rabbaka yabsuturrizqa limai yashaaa'u wa yaqdir; innahoo kaana bi'ibaadihee Khabeeram Baseera

"Your Lord expands the provision for whomever He wills, and restricts it. He is fully Informed, Observant of His servants"

Kullu zaalika kaana sayyi'uhoo inda Rabbika makroohaa

"The evil of all these is disliked by your Lord"

Zaalika mimmaaa awhaaa ilaika Rabbuka minal hikmah; wa laa taj'al ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara fatulqaa fee Jahannama maloomam mad hooraa

"That is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. Do not set up with God another god, or else you will be thrown in Hell, rebuked and banished"

Afa asfaakum rabbukum bilbaneena wattakhaza minal malaaa'ikati inaasaa; innakum lataqooloona qawlan 'azeema

"Has your Lord favored you with sons, while choosing for Himself daughters from among the angels? You are indeed saying a terrible thing"

Qul law kaana ma'ahooo aalihatun kamaa yaqooloona izal labtaghaw ilaa zil 'Arshi Sabeela

"Say, “If there were other gods with Him, as they say, they would have sought a way to the Lord of the Throne.”"

Wa ja'alnaa 'alaa quloo bihim akinnatan any yafqahoohu wa feee aazaanihim waqraa; wa izaa zakarta Rabbaka fil Quraani wahdahoo wallaw 'alaaa adbaarihim nufooraa

"And We drape veils over their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran, they turn their backs in aversion"

Rabbukum a'lamu bikum iny yashaaa yarhamkum aw iny yashaa yu'azzibkum; wa maaa arsalnaaka 'alaihim wakeelaa

"Your Lord knows you best. If He wills, He will have mercy on you; and if He wills, He will punish you. We did not send you as their advocate"

Wa Rabbuka a'lamu biman fis samaawaati wal lard; wa laqad faddalnaa ba'dan Nabiyyeena 'alaa ba'dinw wa aatainaaa Daawooda Zabooraa

"Your Lord knows well everyone in the heavens and the earth. We have given some prophets advantage over others; and to David We gave the Psalms"

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena yad'oona yabtaghoona ilaa Rabbihimul waseelata ayyuhum aqrabu wa yarjoona rahmatahoo wa yakhaafoona 'azaabah; inna 'azaaba rabbika kaana mahzooraa

"Those they call upon are themselves seeking means of access to their Lord, vying to be nearer, and hoping for His mercy, and fearing His punishment. The punishment of your Lord is to be dreaded"

Wa iz qulnaa laka inna rabbaka ahaata binnaas; wa maa ja'alnar ru'yal lateee arainaaka illaa fitnatal linnaasi washshajaratal mal'oonata fil quraan; wa nukhaw wifuhum famaa yazeeduhum illa tughyaanan kabeeraa

"We said to you that your Lord encompasses humanity. We did not make the vision We showed you, except as a test for the people, and the tree cursed in the Quran. We frighten them, but that only increases their defiance"

Inna 'ibaadee laisa laka 'alaihim sultaan; wa kafaa bi Rabbika Wakeelaa

"“As for My devotees, you have no authority over them.” Your Lord is an adequate Guardian"

Rabbukumul lazee yuzjee lakumul fulka fil bahri litabtaghoo min fadlih; innahoo kaana bikum Raheemaa

"Your Lord is He who propels for you the ships at sea, that you may seek of His bounty. He is towards you Most Merciful"

Wa minal laili fatahajjad bihee naafilatal laka 'asaaa any yab'asaka Rabbuka Maqaamam Mahmoodaa

"And keep vigil with it during parts of the night, as an extra prayer. Perhaps your Lord will raise you to a laudable position"

Wa qur Rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala sidqinw wa akhrijnee mukhraja sidqinw waj'al lee milladunka sultaanan naseeraa

"And say, “My Lord, lead me in through an entry of truth, and lead me out through an exit of truth, and grant me from You a supporting power.”"

Qul kulluny ya'malu 'alaa shaakilatihee fa rabbukum a'lamu biman huwa ahdaa sabeelaa

"Say, “Each does according to his disposition. Your Lord knows best who is better guided in the way.”"

Wa yas'aloonaka 'anirrooh; qulir roohu min amri rabbee wa maaa ooteetum minal 'ilmi illaa qaleelaa

"And they ask you about the Spirit. Say, “The Spirit belongs to the domain of my Lord; and you were given only little knowledge.”"

Illaa rahmatam mir Rabbik; inna fadlahoo kaana 'alaika kabeeraa

"Except through a mercy from your Lord. His favors upon you have been great"

Aw yakoona laka baitum min zukhrufin aw tarqaa fis samaaa'i wa lan nu'mina liruqiyyika hatta tunazzila 'alainaa kitaaban naqra'uh; qul Subhaana Rabbee hal kuntu illaa basharar Rasoolaa

"Or you possess a house of gold. Or you ascend into the sky. Even then, we will not believe in your ascension, unless you bring down for us a book that we can read.” Say, “Glory be to my Lord. Am I anything but a human messenger?”"

Qul law antum tamlikoona khazaaa'ina rahmati Rabbeee izal la amsaktum khash yatal infaaq; wa kaanal insaanu qatooraa

"Say, “If you possessed the treasuries of my Lord’s mercy, you would have withheld them for fear of spending.” The human being has always been stingy"

Qaala laqad 'alimta maaa anzala haaa'ulaaa'i illaa Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi basaaa'ira wa innee la azun nuka yaa Fir'awnu masbooraa

"He said, “You know that none sent these down except the Lord of the heavens and the earth—eye openers; and I think that you, Pharaoh, are doomed.”"

Wa yaqooloona Subhaana Rabbinaaa in kaana wa'du Rabbinaa lamaf'oolaa

"And they say, “Glory to our Lord. The promise of our Lord is fulfilled.”"

Iz awal fityatu ilal Kahfi faqaaloo Rabbanaaa aatinaa mil ladunka rahmatanw wa haiyi' lanaa min amrinaa rashadaa

"When the youths took shelter in the cave, they said, “Our Lord, give us mercy from Yourself, and bless our affair with guidance.”"

Nahnu naqussu 'alaika naba ahum bilhaqq; innahum fityatun aamanoo bi Rabbihim wa zidnaahum hudaa

"We relate to you their story in truth. They were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance"

Wa rabatnaa 'alaa quloo bihim iz qaamoo faqaaloo Rabbunaa Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi lan nad'uwa min dooniheee ilaahal laqad qulnaaa izan shatataa

"And We strengthened their hearts, when they stood up and said, “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth; we will not call on any god besides Him, for then we would have spoken an outrage.”"

Wa izi'tazal tumoohum wa maa ya'budoona illal laaha faawooo ilal kahfi yanshur lakum Rabbukum mir rahmatihee wa yuhaiyi' lakum min amrikum mirfaqa

"“Now that you have withdrawn from them, and from what they worship besides God, take shelter in the cave. And your Lord will unfold His mercy for you, and will set your affair towards ease.”"

Wa kazaalika ba'asnaahum liyatasaaa'aloo bainahum; qaala qaaa'ilum minhum kam labistum qaaloo labisnaa yawman aw ba'da yawm; qaaloo Rabbukum a'almu bimaa labistum fab'asooo ahadakum biwariqikum haazihee ilal madeenati falyanzur ayyuhaaa azkaa ta'aaman falyaatikum birizqim minhu walyatalattaf wa laa yush'iranna bikum ahadaa

"Even so, We awakened them, so that they may ask one another. A speaker among them said, “How long have you stayed?” They said, “We have stayed a day, or part of a day.” They said, “Your Lord knows best how long you have stayed.” “Send one of you to the city, with this money of yours, and let him see which food is most suitable, and let him bring you some provision thereof. And let him be gentle, and let no one become aware of you.”"

Wa kazaalika a'sarnaa 'alaihim liya'lamooo anna wa'dal laahi haqqunw wa annas Saa'ata laa raiba feehaa iz yatanaaza'oona bainahum amrahum faqaalub noo 'alaihim bunyaanaa; Rabbuhum a'lamu bihim; qaalal lazeena ghalaboo 'alaaa amrihim lanat takhizanna 'alaihim masjidaa

"So it was, that We caused them to be discovered, that they would know that the promise of God is true, and that of the Hour there is no doubt. As they were disputing their case among themselves, they said, “Build over them a building.” Their Lord knows best about them. Those who prevailed over their case said, “We will set up over them a place of worship.”"

Sa yaqooloona salaasatur raabi'uhum kalbuhum wa yaqooloona khamsatun saadisuhum kalbuhum rajmam bilghaib; wa yaqooloona sab'atunw wa saaminuhum kalbuhum; qur Rabbeee a'lamu bi'iddatihim maa ya'lamuhum illaa qaleel; falaa tumaari feehim illaa miraaa'an zaahiranw wa laa tastafti feehim minhum ahadaa

"They will say, “Three, and their fourth being their dog.” And they will say, “Five, and their sixth being their dog,” guessing at the unknown. And they will say, “Seven, and their eighth being their dog.” Say, “My Lord knows best their number.” None knows them except a few. So do not argue concerning them except with an obvious argument, and do not consult any of them about them"

Illaaa any yashaaa'al laah; wazkur Rabbaka izaa naseeta wa qul 'asaaa any yahdiyani Rabbee li aqraba min haazaa rashadaa

"Without saying, “If God wills.” And remember your Lord if you forget, and say, “Perhaps my Lord will guide me to nearer than this in integrity.”"

Watlu maaa oohiya ilaika min Kitaabi Rabbika laa mubaddila li Kalimaatihee wa lan tajida min doonihee multahadaa

"And recite what was revealed to you from the Book of your Lord. There is no changing His words, and you will find no refuge except in Him"

Wasbir nafsaka ma'al lazeena yad'oona Rabbahum bilghadaati wal'ashiyyi yureedoona Wajhahoo wa laa ta'du 'aynaaka 'anhum tureedu zeenatal hayaatid dunyaa wa laa tuti' man aghfalnaa qalbahoo 'an zikrinaa wattaba'a hawaahu wa kaana amruhoo furutaa

"And content yourself with those who pray to their Lord morning and evening, desiring His Presence. And do not turn your eyes away from them, desiring the glitter of this world. And do not obey him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance—so he follows his own desires—and his priorities are confused"

Wa qulil haqqu mir Rabbikum faman shaaa'a falyu minw wa man shaaa'a falyakfur; innaaa a'tadnaa lizzaalimeena Naaran ahaata bihim suraadiquhaa; wa iny yastagheesoo yaghaasoo bimaaa'in kalmuhli yashwil wujooh' bi'sash-sharaab; wa saaa'at murtafaqaa

"And say, “The truth is from your Lord. Whoever wills—let him believe. And whoever wills—let him disbelieve”. We have prepared for the unjust a Fire, whose curtains will hem them in. And when they cry for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten brass, which scalds the faces. What a miserable drink, and what a terrible place"

Wa maaa azunnus Saa'ata qaaa'imatanw wa la'ir rudittu ilaa Rabbee la ajidanna khairam minhaa munqalabaa

"“And I do not think the Hour is coming. And even if I am returned to my Lord, I will find something better than this in return.”"

Laakinaa Huwal laahu Rabbee wa laa ushriku bi Rabbeee ahadaa

"But as for me, He is God, my Lord, and I never associate with my Lord anyone"

Fa'asaa Rabeee any yu'tiyani khairam min jannatika wa yursila 'alaihaa husbaanam minas samaaa'i fatusbiha sa'eedan zalaqaa

"Perhaps my Lord will give me something better than your garden, and release upon it thunderbolts from the sky, so it becomes barren waste"

Wa uheeta bisamarihee faasbaha yuqallibu kaffaihi 'alaa maaa anfaqa feehaa wa hiya khaawiyatun 'alaa 'urooshihaa wa yaqoolu yaalaitanee lam ushrik bi Rabbeee ahadaa

"And ruin closed in on his crops, and so he began wringing his hands over what he had invested in it, as it lays fallen upon its trellises. And he was saying, “I wish I never associated anyone with my Lord.”"

Almaalu walbanoona zeenatul hayaatid dunya wal baaqiyaatus saalihaatu khairun 'inda Rabbika sawaabanw wa khairun amalaa

"Wealth and children are the adornments of the present life. But the things that last, the virtuous deeds, are better with your Lord for reward, and better for hope"

Wa 'uridoo 'alaa Rabbika saffaa, laqad ji'tumoonaa kamaa khalaqnaakum awala marrah; bal za'amtum allannaj'ala lakum maw'idaa

"They will be presented before your Lord in a row. “You have come to Us as We created you the first time. Although you claimed We would not set a meeting for you.”"

Wa wudi'al kitaabu fataral mujrimeena mushfiqeena mimmaa feehi wa yaqooloona yaa wailatanaa maa lihaazal kitaabi laa yughaadiru saghee ratanw wa laa kabeeratan illaaa ahsaahaa; wa wajadoo maa 'amiloo haadiraa; wa laa yazlimu Rabbuka ahadaa

"And the book will be placed, and you will see the sinners fearful of its contents. And they will say, “Woe to us! What is with this book that leaves nothing, small or big, but it has enumerated it?” They will find everything they had done present. Your Lord does not wrong anyone"

Wa iz qulnaa lilma laaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fasajadooo illaaa Ibleesa kaana minal jinni fafasaqa 'an amri Rabbih; afatattakhizoonahoo wa zurriyatahooo awliyaaa'a min doonee wa hum lakum 'aduww; bi'sa lizzaalimeena badalaa

"We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” So they bowed down, except for Satan. He was of the jinn, and he defied the command of his Lord. Will you take him and his offspring as lords instead of Me, when they are an enemy to you? Evil is the exchange for the wrongdoers"

Wa maa mana'an naasa any yu'minooo iz jaaa'ahumul hudaa wa yastaghfiroo Rabbahum illaaa an taatiyahum sunnatul awwaleena aw yaatiyahumul 'azaabu qubulaa

"What prevented people from accepting faith, when guidance has come to them, and from seeking their Lord’s forgiveness? Unless they are waiting for the precedent of the ancients to befall them, or to have the punishment come upon them face to face"

Wa man azlamu mimman zukkira bi ayaati Rabbihee fa-a'rada 'anhaa wa nasiya maa qaddamat yadaah; innaa ja'alnaa 'alaa quloobihim akinnatan any yafqahoohu wa feee aazaanihim waqraa; wa in tad'uhum ilal hudaa falany yahtadooo izan abadaa

"Who does greater wrong than he, who, when reminded of his Lord’s revelations, turns away from them, and forgets what his hands have put forward? We have placed coverings over their hearts, lest they understand it, and heaviness in their ears. And if you call them to guidance, they will not be guided, ever"

Wa Rabbukal Ghafooru zur rahmati law yu'aakhi zuhum bimaa kasaboo la'ajala lahumul 'azaab; bal lahum maw'idul lany yajidoo min doonihee maw'ilaa

"Your Lord is the Forgiver, Possessor of Mercy. Were He to call them to account for what they have earned, He would have hastened the punishment for them. But they have an appointment from which they will find no escape"

Faradnaa any yubdila humaa Rabbuhumaa khairam minhu zakaatanw wa aqraba ruhmaa

"So we wanted their Lord to replace him with someone better in purity, and closer to mercy"

Wa ammal jidaaru fakaana lighulaamaini yateemaini fil madeenati wa kaana tahtahoo kanzul lahumaa wa kaana aboohumaa saalihan fa araada Rabbuka any yablughaaa ashuddahumaa wa yastakhrijaa kanzahumaa rahmatam mir Rabbik; wa maa fa'altuhoo 'an amree; zaalika taaweelu maa lam tasti' 'alaihi sabra

"And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphaned boys in the town. Beneath it was a treasure that belonged to them. Their father was a righteous man. Your Lord wanted them to reach their maturity, and then extract their treasure—as a mercy from your Lord. I did not do it of my own accord. This is the interpretation of what you were unable to endure.”"

Qaala amaa man zalama fasawfa nu'azzibuhoo summa yuraddu ilaa Rabbihee fa yu 'azzibuhoo azaaban nukraa

"He said, “As for him who does wrong, we will penalize him, then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him with an unheard-of torment"

Qaala maa makkannee feehi Rabbee khairun fa-a'eenoonee biquwwatin aj'al bainakum wa bainahum radmaa

"He said, “What my Lord has empowered me with is better. But assist me with strength, and I will build between you and them a dam.”"

Qaala haaza rahmatummir Rabbee fa izaa jaaa'a wa'du Rabbee ja'alahoo dakkaaa'a; wa kaana; wa du Rabbee haqqaa

"He said, “This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes true, He will turn it into rubble, and the promise of my Lord is always true.”"

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena kafaroo bi aayaati Rabbihim wa liqaaa'ihee fahabitat a'maaluhum falaa nuqeemu lahum Yawmal Qiyaamati waznaa

"It is they who rejected the communications of their Lord, and the encounter with Him. So their works are in vain. And on the Day of Resurrection, We will consider them of no weight"

Qul law kaanal bahru midaadal lik Kalimaati Rabbee lanafidal bahru qabla an tanfada Kalimaatu Rabbee wa law ji'naa bimislihee madadaa

"Say, “If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out,” even if We were to bring the like of it in addition to it"

Qul innamaaa ana basharum mislukum yoohaaa ilaiya annamaa ilaahukum Ilaahunw Waahid; faman kaana yarjoo liqaaa'a Rabbihee falya'mal 'amalan saalihanw wa laa yushrik bi'ibaadati Rabbiheee ahadaa

"Say, “I am only a human being like you, being inspired that your god is One God. Whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and never associate anyone with the service of his Lord.”"

Zikru rahmati Rabbika 'abdahoo Zakariyya

"A mention of the mercy of your Lord towards His servant Zechariah"

Iz naadaa Rabbahoo nidaaa'an khafiyyaa

"When he called on his Lord, a call in seclusion"

Qaala Rabbi innee wahanal'azmu minnee washta'alar raasu shaibanw wa lam akum bidu'aaa'ika Rabbi shaqiyyaa

"He said, “My Lord, my bones have become feeble, and my hair is aflame with gray, and never, Lord, have I been disappointed in my prayer to you"

Yarisunee wa yarisu min aali Ya'qoob, waj'alhu Rabbi radiyya

"To inherit me, and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing.”"

Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa kaanatim ra atee aaqiranw wa qad balaghtu minal kibari 'itiyyaa

"He said, “My Lord, how can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have become decrepit with old age?”"

Qaala kazaalika qaala Rabbuka huwa 'alaiya haiyinunw wa qad khalaqtuka min qablu wa lam taku shai'aa

"He said, “It will be so, your Lord says, ‘it is easy for me, and I created you before, when you were nothing.’”"

Qaala Rabbij 'al leee Aayah; qaala Aayatuka allaa tukalliman naasa salaasa layaalin sawiyyaa

"He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights straight.”"

Qaala innamaa ana rasoolu Rabbiki li ahaba laki ghulaaman zakiyyaa

"He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.”"

Qaala kazaaliki qaala Rabbuki huwa 'alaiya yaiyimunw wa linaj 'alahooo Aayatal linnaasi wa rahmatam minnaa; wa kaana amram maqdiyyaa

"He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“"

Fanaadaahaa min tahtihaan allaa tahzanee qad ja'ala Rabbuki tahtaki sariyyaa

"Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you"

Wa innal laaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa'budooh; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem

"“God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”"

Qaala salaamun 'alaika sa astaghfiru laka Rabbeee innahoo kaana bee hafiyyaa

"He said, “Peace be upon you. I will ask my Lord to forgive you; He has been Kind to me"

Wa a'tazilukum wa maa tad'oona min doonil laahi wa ad'o Rabbee 'asaaa allaaa akoona bidu'aaa'i Rabbee shaqiyyaa

"And I will withdraw from you, and from what you pray to instead of God. And I will pray to my Lord, and I hope I will not be disappointed in my prayer to my Lord.”"

Wa kaana yaamuru ahlahoo bis Salaati waz zakaati wa kaana 'inda Rabbihee mardiyyaa

"And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and charity, and he was pleasing to his Lord"

Wa maa natanazzalu illaa bi amri Rabbika lahoo maa baina aideenaa wa maa khalfanaa wa maa baina zaalik; wa maa kaana Rabbuka nasiyyaa

"“We do not descend except by the command of your Lord. His is what is before us, and what is behind us, and what is between them. Your Lord is never forgetful.”"

Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa fa'bud hu wastabir li'ibaadatih; hal ta'lamu lahoo samiyyaa

"Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. So worship Him, and persevere in His service. Do you know of anyone equal to Him"

Fawa Rabbika lanahshu rannahum wash shayaateena summa lanuhdirannahum hawla jahannama jisiyyaa

"By your Lord, We will round them up, and the devils, then We will bring them around Hell, on their knees"

Wa im minkum illaa waa riduhaa; kaana 'alaa Rabbika hatmam maqdiyyaa

"There is not one of you but will go down to it. This has been an unavoidable decree of your Lord"

Wa yazeedul laahul lazeenah tadaw hudaa; wal baaqiyaatus saalihaatu khairun 'inda Rabbika sawaabanw wa khairum maraddaa

"God increases in guidance those who accept guidance. And the things that endure—the righteous deeds—have the best reward with your Lord, and the best outcome"

Inneee Ana Rabbuka fakhla' na'laika innaka bilwaadil muqaddasi Tuwaa

"I—I am your Lord. Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley of Tuwa"

Qaala Rabbish rah lee sadree

"He said, “My Lord, put my heart at peace for me"

Qaalaa Rabbanaaa innanaa nakhaafu ai yafruta 'alainaaa aw ai yatghaa

"They said, “Lord, we fear he may persecute us, or become violent.”"

Faatiyaahu faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolaa Rabbika fa arsil ma'anaa Banee Israaa'eela wa laa tu'azzibhum qad ji'naaka bi Aayatim mir Rabbika wassa laamu 'alaa manit taba'al hudaa

"Approach him and say, `We are the messengers of your Lord; so let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not torment them. We bring you a sign from your Lord, and peace be upon him who follows guidance"

Qaala famar Rabbu kumaa yaa Moosa

"He said, “Who is your Lord, O Moses.”"

Qaala Rabbunal lazeee a'taa kulla shai'in khalqahoo summa hadaa

"He said, “Our Lord is He who gave everything its existence, then guided it.”"

Qaala 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabee fee kitaab, laa yadillu Rabbee wa laa yansaa

"He said, “Knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Book. My Lord never errs, nor does He forget.”"

Fa ulqiyas saharatu sujjadan qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbi Haaroona wa Moosa

"And the magicians fell down prostrate. They said, “We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.”"

Innaaa aamannaa bi Rabbinaa liyaghfira lanaa khataayaanaa wa maaa akrahtanaa 'alaihi minas sihr; wallaahu khairunw waabqaa

"We have believed in our Lord, so that He may forgive us our sins, and the magic you have compelled us to practice. God is Better, and more Lasting.”"

Innahoo mai yaati Rabbahoo mujriman fa inna lahoo Jahannama laa yamotu feehaa wa laa yahyaa

"Whoever comes to his Lord guilty, for him is Hell, where he neither dies nor lives"

Qaala hum ulaaa'i 'alaaa asaree wa 'ajiltu ilaika Rabbi litardaa

"He said, “They are following in my footsteps; and I hurried on to You, my Lord, that you may be pleased.”"

Faraja's Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifaa; qaala yaa qawmi alam ya'idkum Rabbukum wa'dan hasanaa; afataala 'alaikumul 'ahdu am arattum ai yahilla 'alaikum ghadabum mir Rabbikum fa akhlaftum maw'idee

"So Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed. He said, “O my people, did your Lord not promise you a good promise? Was the time too long for you? Or did you want wrath from your Lord to descend upon you, so you broke your promise to me?”"

Wa laqad qaala lahum Haaroonu min qablu yaa qawmi innamaa futintum bihee wa inna Rabbakumur Rahmaanu fattabi'oonee wa atee'ooo amree

"Aaron had said to them before, “O my people, you are being tested by this. And your Lord is the Merciful, so follow me, and obey my command.”"

Wa yas'aloonaka 'anil jibaali faqul yansifuhaa Rabbee nasfaa

"And they ask you about the mountains. Say, “My Lord will crumble them utterly.”"

Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; wa laa ta'jal bil Quraani min qabli ai yuqdaaa ilaika wahyuhoo wa qur Rabbi zidnee 'ilmaa

"Exalted is God, the True King. Do not be hasty with the Quran before its inspiration to you is concluded, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”"

Fa akalaa minhaa fabadat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannah; wa 'asaaa Aadamu Rabbahoo faghawaa

"And so they ate from it; whereupon their bodies became visible to them, and they started covering themselves with the leaves of the Garden. Thus Adam disobeyed his Lord, and fell"

Summaj tabbahu Rabbuhoo fataaba 'alaihi wa hadaa

"But then his Lord recalled him, and pardoned him, and guided him"

Qaala Rabbi lima hashar tanee a'maa wa qad kuntu baseeraa

"He will say, “My Lord, why did You raise me blind, though I was seeing?”"

Wa kazaalika najzee man asrafa wa lam yu'mim bi Aayaati Rabbih; wa la'azaabul Aakhirati ashaddu wa abqaa

"Thus We recompense him who transgresses and does not believe in the revelations of his Lord. The punishment of the Hereafter is more severe, and more lasting"

Wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika lakaana lizaamanw wa ajalum musammaa

"Were it not for a word that issued from your Lord, the inevitable would have happened, but there is an appointed term"

Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qabla ghuroobihaa wa min aanaaa'il laili fasbbih wa atraafan nahaari la 'allaka tardaa

"So bear patiently what they say, and celebrate the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting. And during the hours of the night glorify Him, and at the borders of the day, that you may be satisfied"

Wa laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa ma matta'na biheee azwajam minhum zahratal hayaatid dunya linaftinahum feeh; wa rizqu Rabbika khairunw wa abqaa

"And do not extend your glance towards what We have given some classes of them to enjoy—the splendor of the life of this world—that We may test them thereby. Your Lord’s provision is better, and more lasting"

Wa qaaloo law laa yaateenaa bi Aayatim mmir Rabbih; awalam taatihim baiyinatu maa fis suhufil oolaa

"And they say, “Why does he not bring us a miracle from his Lord?” Were they not given enough miracles in the former scriptures"

Wa law annaaa ahlaknaahum bi'azaabim min qablihee laqaaloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi's Aayaatika min qabli an nazilla wa nakhzaa

"Had We destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, “Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, we would have followed Your revelations before we were humiliated and disgraced.”"

Maa yaateehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama'oohu wa hum yal'aboon

"No fresh reminder comes to them from their Lord, but they listen to it playfully"

Qaala Rabbee ya'lamul qawla fis samaaa'i wal ardi wa Huwas Samee'ul Aleem

"He said, “My Lord knows what is said in the heaven and the earth; and He is the Hearer, the Knower.”"

Law kaana feehimaaa aalihatun illal laahu lafasadataa; fa-Subhaanal laahi Rabbil 'Arshi 'ammaa yasifoon

"If there were in them gods other than God, they would have gone to ruin. So glory be to God, Lord of the Throne, beyond what they allege"

Qul mai yakla 'ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum 'an zikri Rabbihim mu'ridoon

"Say, “Who guards you against the Merciful by night and by day?” But they turn away from the mention of their Lord"

Wa la'im massat hum nafhatum min 'azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen

"And when a breath of your Lord’s punishment touches them, they say, “Woe to us, we were truly wicked.”"

Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa'ati mushfiqoon

"Those who fear their Lord in private, and are apprehensive of the Hour"

Qaala bar Rabbukum Rabbus samaawaati wal ardil lazee fatarahunna wa ana 'alaa zaalikum minash shaahideen

"He said, “Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the One who created them, and I bear witness to that"

Wa Ayyooba iz naadaa Rabbahooo annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

"And Job, when he cried out to his Lord: “Great harm has afflicted me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”"

Wa Zakariyyaaa iz naadaa Rabbahoo Rabbi laa tazarnee fardanw wa Anta khairul waariseen

"And Zechariah, when he called out to his Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me alone, even though you are the Best of heirs.”"

Inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fa'budoon

"This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so worship Me"

Qaala Rabbih kum bil haqq; wa Rabbunar Rahmaa nul musta'aanu 'alaa maa tasifoon

"He said, “My Lord, judge with justice.” And, “Our Lord is the Gracious, Whose help is sought against what you allege.”"

Yaaa ayyuhan naasuttaqoo Rabbakum; inna zalzalatas Saa'ati shai'un 'azeem

"O people, be conscious of your Lord. The quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing"

Haazaani khasmaanikh tasamoo fee Rabbihim fal lazeena kafaroo qutti'at lahum siyaabum min naar; yusabbu min fawqi ru'oosihimul hameem

"Here are two adversaries feuding regarding their Lord. As for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be tailored for them, and scalding water will be poured over their heads"

Zaalika wa mai yu'azzim hurumaatil laahi fahuwa khairul lahoo 'inda Rabbih; wa uhillat lakumul an'aamu illaa maa yutlaa 'alaikum fajtanibur rijsa minal awsaani wajtaniboo qawlaz zoor

"All that. Whoever venerates the sanctities of God—it is good for him with his Lord. All livestock are permitted to you, except what is recited to you. So stay away from the abomination of idols, and stay away from perjury"

Allazeena ukhrijoo min diyaarihim bighairi haqqin illaaa any yaqooloo rabbunallaah; wa law laa daf'ul laahin naasa ba'dahum biba'dil lahuddimat sawaami'u wa biya'unw wa salawaatunw wa masaajidu yuzkaru feehasmul laahi kaseeraa; wa layansurannal laahu mai yansuruh; innal laaha la qawiyyun 'Azeez

"Those who were unjustly evicted from their homes, merely for saying, “Our Lord is God.” Were it not that God repels people by means of others: monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques—where the name of God is mentioned much—would have been demolished. God supports whoever supports Him. God is Strong and Mighty"

Wa yasta'juloonaka bil'azaabi wa lany yukhlifal laahu wa'dah; wa inna yawman 'inda Rabbika ka'alfi sanatim mimmaa ta'uddoon

"And they ask you to hasten the punishment. But God never breaks His promise. A day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your count"

Wa liya'lamal lazeena ootul 'ilma annahul haqqu mir Rabbika fa yu'minoo bihee fatukhbita ahoo quloobuhum; wa innal laaha lahaadil lazeena aamanoo ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

"And so that those endowed with knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, and so believe in it, and their hearts soften to it. God guides those who believe to a straight path"

Likulli ummatin ja'alnaa mansakan hum naasikoohu falaa yunaazi 'unnaka fil amr; wad'u ilaa Rabbika innaka la 'alaa hudam mustaqeem

"For every congregation We have appointed acts of devotion, which they observe. So do not let them dispute with you in this matter. And invite to your Lord; you are upon a straight guidance"

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanur ka'oo wasjudoo wa'budoo Rabbakum waf'alul khaira la'allakum tuflihoon

"O you who believe! Kneel, and prostrate, and worship your Lord, and do good deeds, so that you may succeed"

Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

"He said, “My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me.”"

Wa qur Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen

"And say, “My Lord, land me with a blessed landing, as you are the best of transporters.”"

Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

"He said, “My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me.”"

Wa inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fattaqoon

"This nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord, so fear Me"

Innal lazeena hum min khashyati Rabbihim mushfiqoon

"Those who, from awe of their Lord, are fearful"

Wallazeena hum bi Aayaati Rabbihim yu'minoon

"And those who believe in their Lord’s Verses"

Wallazeena hum bi Rabbihim laa yushrikoon

"And those who associate no partners with their Lord"

Wallazeena yu'toona maaa aataw wa quloobuhum wajilatun annahum ilaa Rabbihim raaji'oon

"And those who give what they give, while their hearts quake, knowing that to their Lord they will return"

Am tas'aluhum kharjan fakharaaju Rabbika khairunw wa Huwa khairur raaziqeen

"Or are you asking them for a payment? The revenue from your Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers"

Wa laqad akhaznaahum bil'azaabi famastakaanoo li Rabbihim wa maa yatadarra'oon

"We have already gripped them with suffering, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor did they humble themselves"

Qul mar Rabbus samaawaatis sab'i wa Rabbul 'Arshil 'Azeem

"Say, “Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Splendid Throne?”"

Qur Rabbi immmaa turiyannee maa yoo'adoon

"Say, “My Lord, if You would show me what they are promised"

Rabbi falaa taj'alnee fil qawmiz zaalimeen

"My Lord, do not place me among the wicked people.”"

Wa qur Rabbi a'oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen

"And say, “My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the urgings of the devils"

Wa a'oozu bika Rabbi ai-yahduroon

"And I seek refuge with You, my Lord, lest they become present.”"

Hattaaa izaa jaaa'a ahada humul mawtu qaala Rabbir ji'oon

"Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, send me back"

Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat 'alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman daaalleen

"They will say, “Our Lord, our wretchedness prevailed over us, and we were a people astray"

Rabbanaa akhrijnaa minhaa fa in 'udnaa fa innaa zaalimoon

"Our Lord! Bring us out of this. If we ever returned, we would truly be evil.”"

Innahoo kaana fareequm min 'ibaadee yaqooloona Rabbanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa warhamnaa wa Anta khairur raahimeen

"There was a group of My servants who would say, `Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us, and have mercy on us; You are the Best of the merciful"

Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbul 'Arshil Kareem

"So Exalted is God, the Ruler, the Real. There is no god except He, the Lord of the Noble Throne"

Wa mai yad'u ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara laa burhaana lahoo bihee fa innnamaa hisaabuhoo 'inda Rabbih; innahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon

"Whoever invokes another god besides God—he has no proof thereof—his reckoning rests with his Lord. The disbelievers will not succeed"

Wa qur Rabbigh fir warham wa Anta khairur raahimeen

"And say, “My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful.”"

Lahum feehaa maa yashaaa'oona khaalideen; kaana 'alaa Rabbika wa'dam mas'oolaa

"They will have therein whatever they desire, forever. That is upon your Lord a binding promise"

Qaaloo Subhaanaka maa kaana yambaghee lanaaa an nattakhiza min doonika min awliyaaa'a wa laakim matta'tahum wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa nasuz zikra wa kaanoo qawmam booraa

"They will say, “Glory be to You. It was not for us to take any lords besides You. But you gave them enjoyments, and their ancestors, until they forgot the Message, and became ruined people.”"

Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka minal mursaleena illaaa innahum la yaakuloonat ta'aama wa yamshoona fil aswaaq; wa ja'alnaa ba'dakum liba'din fitnatan atasbiroon; wa kaana Rabbuka Baseera

"We never sent any messengers before you, but they ate food and walked in the marketplaces. And We made some of you tempters for one another—will you be patient? Your Lord is always Observing"

Wa qaalal lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa'anaa law laaa unzila 'alainal malaaa'ikatu awnaraa Rabbanaa; laqadistakbaroo feee anfusihim wa 'ataw 'utuwwan kabeeraa

"Those who do not expect to meet Us say, “If only the angels were sent down to us, or we could see our Lord.” They have grown arrogant within themselves, and have become excessively defiant"

Wa qaalar Rasoolu yaa Rabbi inna qawmit takhazoo haazal Qur-aana mahjooraa

"And the Messenger will say, “My Lord, my people have abandoned this Quran.”"

Wa kazaalika ja'alnaa likulli Nabiyyin 'aduwwam minal mujrimeen; wa kafaa bi Rabbika haadiyanw wa naseeraa

"Likewise, to every prophet We assign enemies from among the wicked. But your Lord suffices as a Guide and Savior"

Alam tara ilaa Rabbika kaifa maddaz zilla wa law shaaa'a laja'alahoo saakinan summa ja'alnash shamsa 'alaihe daleelaa

"Do you not see how your Lord extends the shadow? Had He willed, He could have made it still. And We made the sun a pointer to it"

Wa Huwal lazee khalaqa minal maaa'i basharran fa ja'alahoo nasaban wa sihraa; wa kaana Rabbuka Qadeeraa

"And it is He who, from fluid, created the human being. Then He made relationships through marriage and mating. Your Lord is Omnipotent"

Wa ya'budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa'uhum wa laa yadurruhum; wa kaanal kaafiru 'alaa Rabbihee zaheeraa

"And yet, instead of God, they serve what neither profits them nor harms them. The disbeliever has always turned his back on his Lord"
