إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ 1
Izas samaaa'un shaqqat
When the sky is ruptured
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ 2
Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat
And hearkens to its Lord, as it must
وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ 3
Wa izal ardu muddat
And when the earth is leveled out
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ 4
Wa alqat maa feehaa wa takhallat
And casts out what is in it, and becomes empty
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ 5
Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat
And hearkens to its Lord, as it must
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحࣰ ا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ 6
Yaaa ayyuhal insaanu innaka kaadihun ilaa Rabbika kad han famulaaqeeh
O man! You are laboring towards your Lord, and you will meet Him
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ 7
Fa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo biyameenih
As for him who is given his book in his right hand
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابࣰ ا يَسِيرࣰ ا 8
Fasawfa yuhaasabu hi saabai yaseeraa
He will have an easy settlement
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورࣰ ا 9
Wa yanqalibu ilaaa ahlihee masrooraa
And will return to his family delighted
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ 10
Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo waraaa'a zahrih
But as for him who is given his book behind his back
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورࣰ ا 11
Fasawfa yad'oo subooraa
He will call for death
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا 12
Wa yaslaa sa'eeraa
And will enter the Blaze
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا 13
Innahoo kaana feee ahlihee masrooraa
He used to be happy among his family
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ 14
Innahoo zanna al lai yahoor
He thought he would never return
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرࣰ ا 15
Balaaa inna Rabbahoo kaana bihee baseeraa
In fact, his Lord was watching him
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ 16
Falaaa uqsimu bishshafaq
I swear by the twilight
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ 17
Wallaili wa maa wasaq
And by the night, and what it covers
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ 18
Walqamari izat tasaq
And by the moon, as it grows full
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقࣲ 19
Latarkabunna tabaqan 'an tabaq
You will mount stage by stage
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ 20
Famaa lahum laa yu'minoon
What is the matter with them that they do not believe
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ 21
Wa izaa quri'a 'alaihimul Quraanu laa yasjudoon
And when the Quran is read to them, they do not bow down
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ 22
Balil lazeena kafaroo yukazziboon
In fact, those who disbelieve are in denial
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ 23
Wallaahu a'lamu bimaa yoo'oon
But God knows what they hide inside
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 24
Fabashshirhum bi'azaabin aleem
So inform them of a painful punishment
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ 25
Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon
Except those who believe and do good deeds; they will have an undiminished reward
