After 3 years of private preaching, revelation commanded open declaration of Tawhid (Monotheism). The Prophet gathered the Quraysh clans at Mount Safa, sparking fierce opposition from Abu Lahab and tribal chieftains.

Quraysh imposed a total social, economic, and trade embargo on Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib. For three grueling years, Muslims were confined to a valley, enduring starvation until the parchment in the Ka'bah was found consumed by termites.

The Year of Sorrow (Am al-Huzn) & Journey to Ta'if

The Prophet suffered the devastating loss of his beloved wife Khadijah and his protective uncle Abu Talib within months. Traveling to Ta'if to seek refuge, he was violently stoned by mobs, yet prayed for their forgiveness.

The Great Migration (Al-Hijrah) & Constitution of Medina

Escaping an assassination plot in Makkah, the Prophet and Abu Bakr migrated to Medina, marking Year 1 of the Islamic Calendar (1 AH). The Prophet established the Brotherhood (Mu'akhah) and drafted the historic Constitution of Medina (Sahifat al-Madinah).

The Battle of Badr & Fasting Legislated

The foundational military turning point where 313 ill-equipped Muslims defeated a 1,000-strong Quraysh army. Surah Al-Anfal was revealed analyzing the battle's spiritual lessons, alongside the prescription of Ramadan fasting and change of Qibla to the Ka'bah.

The Battle of Uhud

Quraysh sought vengeance for Badr with an army of 3,000. Despite initial Muslim success, archers abandoning their post on the hill led to a severe tactical reversal and the martyrdom of 70 companions including Hamzah. Surah Ali 'Imran addressed the psychological aftermath.

The Battle of the Trench (Al-Khandaq / Al-Ahzab)

A coalition of 10,000 confederates besieged Medina. On Salman al-Farsi's advice, Muslims dug a defensive trench. A fierce psychological siege, harsh winter winds, and Ali ibn Abi Talib's duel against Amr ibn Abd Wudd caused the confederate army to disintegrate.

Al-Hudaybiyyah (Outskirts of Makkah)

The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah & Pledge of the Tree

Marching peacefully for Umrah, Muslims were stopped at Hudaybiyyah. The Prophet negotiated a 10-year peace treaty. Though initially seen by some as disadvantageous, Allah declared it 'A Clear Victory' (Fathan Mubina) in Surah Al-Fath as it enabled massive peaceful propagation.

Battle of Khaybar & Letters to World Emperors

The neutralization of fortified hostile strongholds in Khaybar. The Prophet dispatched diplomatic emissaries and letters to Roman Emperor Heraclius, Persian King Khosrow II, Negus of Abyssinia, and Cyrus of Alexandria calling them to Islam.

Makkah Al-Mukarramah

The Peaceful Conquest of Makkah (Fath Makkah)

Following Quraysh's breach of the Hudaybiyyah treaty, the Prophet entered Makkah with 10,000 believers without bloodshed, cleansed the Ka'bah of all 360 idols, and proclaimed universal general amnesty ('Go, for you are free').

Tabuk (Northern Arabian Frontier)

The Expedition of Tabuk & Year of Delegations

During extreme summer heat, 30,000 Muslims marched to the Byzantine frontier at Tabuk. Arab tribes across the entire Arabian peninsula sent delegations (Wufud) to Medina to embrace Islam. Surah At-Tawbah was revealed addressing hypocrites and treaty obligations.

Arafat, Makkah & Ghadir Khumm

The Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wida') & Ghadir Khumm

حجة الوداع وغدير خم

The Prophet led over 100,000 Muslims in his only Hajj, delivering the famous Farewell Sermon enshrining human rights, racial equality, and economic justice. Revelation proclaimed: 'Today I have perfected your religion for you' (5:3). At Ghadir Khumm on the return journey, he emphasized the Quran and Ahl al-Bayt.
