مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ 2
Mal qaariah
What is the Shocker
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ 3
Wa maa adraaka mal qaari'ah
What will explain to you what the Shocker is
يَوۡمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ 4
Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth
The Day when the people will be like scattered moths
وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ 5
Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh
And the mountains will be like tufted wool
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ 6
Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh
As for he whose scales are heavy
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةࣲ رَّاضِيَةࣲ 7
Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah
He will be in a pleasant life
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ 8
Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh
But as for he whose scales are light
فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةࣱ 9
Fa-ummuhu haawiyah
His home is the Abyss
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهۡ 10
Wa maa adraaka maa hiyah
Do you know what it is
نَارٌ حَامِيَةُۢ 11
Naarun hamiyah
A Raging Fire
