مضي
All Verses Containing Root مضي (5)
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَنتَهُواْ يُغۡفَرۡ لَهُم مَّا قَدۡ سَلَفَ وَإِن يَعُودُواْ فَقَدۡ مَضَتۡ سُنَّتُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Say to those who disbelieve: if they desist, their past will be forgiven. But if they persist—the practice of the ancients has passed away
فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ
“Travel with your family at the dead of the night, and follow up behind them, and let none of you look back, and proceed as commanded.”
وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِفَتَىٰهُ لَآ أَبۡرَحُ حَتَّىٰٓ أَبۡلُغَ مَجۡمَعَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ أَوۡ أَمۡضِيَ حُقُبࣰ ا
Recall when Moses said to his servant, “I will not give up until I reach the junction of the two rivers, even if it takes me years.”
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيࣰّ ا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
And if We will, We can cripple them in their place; so they can neither move forward, nor go back
فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشࣰ ا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
We destroyed people more powerful than they, and so the example of the ancients has passed away
