Lord of the Worlds, Rahman & Rahim, Sovereign of Judgment Day

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 1

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

بِسْمِ In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah,
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ the Most Gracious,
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 2

Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

ٱلْحَمْدُ All praises and thanks
لِلَّهِ (be) to Allah,
رَبِّ the Lord
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ of the universe

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 3

Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem

ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ The Most Gracious,
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful.

The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ 4

Maaliki Yawmid-Deen

مَٰلِكِ (The) Master
يَوْمِ (of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ (of the) Judgment.

The Core Covenant

You alone we worship, and from You alone we seek help

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ 5

Iyyaaka na'budu wa lyyaaka nasta'een

إِيَّاكَ You Alone
نَعْبُدُ we worship,
وَإِيَّاكَ and You Alone
نَسْتَعِينُ we ask for help.

It is You we worship, and upon You we call for help

The Straight Path

Guide us to the path of those blessed, not those who incur anger or go astray

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ 6

Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem

ٱهْدِنَا Guide us
ٱلصِّرَٰطَ (to) the path,
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ the straight.

Guide us to the straight path

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ 7

Siraatal-lazeena an'amta 'alaihim ghayril-maghdoobi 'alaihim wa lad-daaalleen

صِرَٰطَ (The) path
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those
أَنْعَمْتَ You have bestowed (Your) Favors
عَلَيْهِمْ on them,
غَيْرِ not (of)
ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ those who earned (Your) wrath
عَلَيْهِمْ on themselves
وَلَا and not
ٱلضَّاۡلِّينَ (of) those who go astray.

The path of those You have blessed, not of those against whom there is anger, nor of those who are misguided
