Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabi wa Qur-aa-nim Mubeen
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the Verses of the Book; a Quran that makes things clear
Rubamaa yawaddul lazeena kafaroo law kaanoo muslimeen
Perhaps those who disbelieve would like to become Muslims
Leave them to eat, and enjoy, and be lulled by hope. They will find out
Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa wa lahaa kitaabum ma'loom
We have never destroyed a town unless it had a set time
Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon
No nation can bring its time forward, nor can they delay it
Wa qaaloo yaaa aiyuhal lazee nuzzila 'alaihiz Zikru innaka lamajnoon
And they said, “O you who received the message, you are insane.”
Law maa taateenaa bil malaaa'ikati in kunta minas saadiqeen
Why do you not bring us the angels, if you are truthful?”
Maa nunazzilul malaaa'i kata illaa bilhaqqi wa maa kaanooo izam munzareen
We do not send the angels down except with reason, and they will not be held back
Innaa Nahnu nazalnaz Zikra wa Innaa lahoo lahaa fizoon
Surely We revealed the Message, and We will surely preserve it

Wa laqad arsalnaa min qablika fee shiya'il awwaleen
We sent others before you, to the former communities

Wa maa yaateehim mir Rasoolin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon
But no messenger came to them, but they ridiculed him
kazaalika naslukuhoo fee quloobil mujrimeen
Thus We slip it into the hearts of the guilty
Laa yu'minoona bihee wa qad khalat sunnatul awwaleen
They do not believe in it, though the ways of the ancients have passed away
Wa law fatahnaa 'alaihim baabam minas samaaa'i fazaloo feehi ya'rujoon
Even if We opened for them a gateway into the sky, and they began to ascend through it
Laqaaloo innamaa sukkirat absaarunaa bal nahnu qawmum mashooroon
They would still say, “Our eyes are hallucinating; in fact, we are people bewitched.”

Illaa manis taraqas sam'a fa atba'ahoo shihaabum mubeen
Except one who steals a hearing, and is followed by a visible projectile
Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli shai'im mawzoon
We spread the earth, and placed stabilizers in it, and in it We grew all things in proper measure
Wa ja'alnaa lakum feehaa ma'aayisha wa mal lastum lahoo biraaziqeen

Wa im min shai'in illaa 'indanaa khazaaa 'inuhoo wa maa nunazziluhooo illaa biqadarim ma'loom
There is not a thing but with Us are its stores, and We send it down only in precise measure
Wa arsalnar riyaaha la waaqiha fa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa asqai naakumoohu wa maaa antum lahoo bikhaazineen
We send the fertilizing winds; and send down water from the sky, and give it to you to drink, and you are not the ones who store it
It is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritors
And We know those of you who go forward, and We know those who lag behind

Do not extend your eyes towards what We have bestowed on some couples of them to enjoy, and do not grieve over them, and lower your wing to the believers
Wa qul inneee anan nazeerul mubeen
And say, “I am the clear warner.”
Kamaaa anzalnaa 'alal muqtasimeen
Just as We sent down to the separatists
Allazeena ja'alul Quraana'ideen
Those who made the Quran obsolete
Fawa Rabbika lanas'a lannahum ajma'een
By your Lord, we will question them all
Ammaa kaanoo ya'maloon
About what they used to do
Fasda' bimaa tu'maru wa a'rid anil mushrikeen
So proclaim openly what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists
Innaa kafainaakal mustahzi'een
We are enough for you against the mockers
Those who set up another god with God. They will come to know
We are aware that your heart is strained by what they say
Fasbbih bihamdi Rabbika wa kum minas saajideen
So glorify the praise of your Lord, and be among those who bow down
Wa'bud Rabbaka hattaa yaatiyakal yaqeen
And worship your Lord in order to attain certainty

Abu Bakr came and caught him by his shoulder and pushed him away from the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "Do you want to kill a man just because he says, 'My Lord is Allah?' "

"There was a woman who performed Salat behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who was the most beautiful among the people. Some of the people would go forward to the first line so as not to see her. Others would go back to the last line so when he would bow, he could look at her from under his armpit. So Allah revealed: Indeed We know those who try to come forward among you, and We know those who try to go back (15:24).

When God’s Messenger once asked Ubayy b. Ka'b how he recited in the course of the prayer and he recited Umm al- Qur’ān (Al-Qur’ān 1) , he said, “By Him in whose hand my soul is, nothing like it has been sent down in the Torah, the Injīl, the Zabūr, or the Qur’ān, and it is seven of the oft-repeated verses and the mighty Qur’ān (Qur’ān, 15:87) which I have been given.” Tirmidhī transmitted it, and Dārimī transmitted from “nothing like it has been sent down,” but he did not mention Ubayy b. Ka‘b. Tirmidhī said this is a hasan sahīh tradition.
